owning handguns in california is a PIA!

SOB's!!!!

bro gave me a sig 10 years ago. like a good citizen, i took it to a gunshop to let him hang onto it for 10 days, while the paperwork clears. he said it wasnt needed, since my bro gave it to me. he directed me to fill out a form for family transfer..something like $12..viola!

fast foward to today. got a glock on the way. again, from my bro. thought i could do it the same way. turns out, siblings do not count as "immediate family". WTF? is pistol #1 -illegal? called DOJ. nice lady, told me gun#1 is probably ok, but i filled out a new form, had it NOTARIZED, sent it for my personal list of registered firearms.. 6 weeks to find out if it is legit. if not, back to square one...off to a gun dealer. i didnt even mention...i havent taken the pistol certification test! i'm doing that tonight..i think.

...shall not be infringed.

Clearly stated, so you must be doing something wrong.

My last two were shipped to a friend who has a FFL. We filled out the paperwork, and he filed it in case he ever gets audited.

No state, county, or city involvement. The way it was meant to be.

So many of California's gun and knife laws make zero sense and do nothing but create red tape and criminalize non-criminal acts. Good luck with all that.

It's okay because all the criminals, gang bangers, home invaders, robbers, thugs and scumbags all have to jump through the same hoops.

There are some things I REALLY do NOT miss about living in CA. The idiocy of their gun laws is certainly right up there.

Don't take this the wrong way......it's merely a question from someone who lives without a firearm, so just getting another view...yours.

If you're unarmed, would you engage someone who.......let's say.....mouths off at you in the street, threatening to beat you to a pulp, in the same way you would if you were armed?

IF I ever had to move to KA, I'd totally ignore the gun laws. When laws get to be that stupid, I consider them optional.

We can't open carry in Texas. Texas isn't "Texas".

Here in PA, the prospect of our neighbors legally bearing arms isn't so threatening that we feel the need to sacrifice our own freedom in order to restrict our neighbors' liberty.

How about mine.
The answer is no, when I have my pistol, I am less likely to engage someone who mouths off at me. You can kinda think of it from the standpoint that my pistol makes me think a lot harder about the consequences. That and I will tell them that they are mouthing off to an armed person. When I am unarmed, I will invite someone to try and beat me to a pulp. I will swing fast if provoked. I have a very bad temper, and I am not a small or out of shape person.
Being a person who doesn't own a fire arm I don't expect my answer to make sense to you. But that is my mind set.

No. My shoulder hurts so badly right now that I am essentially defenseless, and very crabby, so if I was armed, I would shoot the SOB.

I've actually been in several fist fights over the years with a gun on my person, and never drawn it for such a reason.
