Uppity flight attendant.

Im sure we all felt like doing something this at work, one time or another.:D ( ok maybe not the boy friend part) ( not that theres anything wrong with that...)

JetBlue flight attendant who went nuts was in bed with boyfriend when found by cops

rattlsnak 08-10-2010 11:21 AM

yeah, i know one of the pilots on that flight. amazing, but i can see how it happens.. Ive seen it millions of times. Plane not quite at the gate but people start unbuckling and racing to stand up and grab their bags. For what? Youre not going ANYWHERE for another 5 minutes...

gtc 08-10-2010 01:22 PM

So, exactly what law did he break?

RWebb 08-10-2010 01:40 PM

criminal mischief for one; they may ding him for interfering with a flight crew (!)

Steven Slater, JetBlue Flight Attendant Held on Bail in Emergency Slide Incident - ABC News

Gee! The flying public lacks civility? I wonder why? Maybe b/c they are treated worse than cattle in a slaughter truck?

Slater had recently been thru some very traumatic incidents and it seems like he was really fed up.

I've always wanted to pull the slide handle myself...

RWebb 08-10-2010 01:47 PM

ok

criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.

2 witnesses got protective orders too - that's interesting

carambola 08-10-2010 02:13 PM

is it in dispute that he was assaulted on the flight? poor guy just finally had enough

I can only guess that it's bad to pull the emergency exit if it's not actually an emergency.

And the airlines don't even recognize it! In the hearings that resulted in the 3 hour wait rule, the airlines were incensed that the FAA wouldn't let them keep us locked in an aluminum tube going nowhere for four hours! They seem to think the accommodations are comfortable. Still, it's not the flight attendant's fault. I feel sorry for them, being in the middle between customers and the airline.

Wasn't he the flight crew himself?

BTW, what is reporting coming to?:

The mad-as-hell steward grabbed a couple of brewskis and popped one open before activating the emergency exit, witnesses told airport employees.

The weekly world news has better writers.

Awwww, poor stevie the stewardess aka drama queen.
Little stevie the stewardess obviously chose the wrong profession but he wanted to be just like his mommie.

I can imagine him cursing out the passengers on the intercom, complete with his lisp.
But it's not his fault, he's a recovering alcoholic and he's under allot of pressure!
Maybe he should put on his big boy pants and man up. Either that or come out of the closet and get help with his disorder.
If he didn't want to be a stewardess he could have quietly quit at any time and got a different job. But noooo! He had to be an attention whore and make a scene.
Life is not a soap opera people!

And to the rest of the people out there who are making this LOSER some sort of poster-boy for losers, get a life. Seriously.
Seeing someone else who is a bigger loser than you and having it make you feel better because you can relate to being a loser just like him does not reflect positively on you.

Out on bail and he has 66K friends on his FB site.....

VINMAN 08-11-2010 06:03 AM

I'm curious as to why no charges were brought against the passenger??

VINMAN 08-11-2010 07:08 AM

Hmmm.... Hearing rumors that the passenger was Sheila Jackson Lee, Texas Congresswoman??

No way. That would have made it around Twitter and Facebook in a matter of seconds. I'd love for it to be true, but it can't be.

VINMAN 08-11-2010 07:20 AM

I agree Rick.

But again. Why was this passenger swept under the rug?? They lock you up now for the slightest little disruption.

Rick Lee 08-11-2010 07:25 AM

Since this didn't happen in Houston, Sheila Jackson-Lee would have been locked up and treated like anyone else, had it been her and had there been cause to arrest the passenger. No one outside of DC or Houston would recognize her and those who would know who she is would probably relish the chance to have her arrested. There's no member of Congress I love to hate more than her, but this just did not happen.

VINMAN 08-11-2010 07:26 AM

I agree with ya

I've never figured out why the guy in row 30 jumps up as the plane is rolling into the jetbridge and has his two overly large bags out of hte overhead even before the plane stops. Then has to stand in the aisle with his butt in my face waiting 10 minutes for the front half of the plane to deboard...

Courtesy and civility went out the window years ago. I'd estimate right about the time the airlines shrunk the legroom down to the size of a shoebox. I mean really, I'm 5'8" and I can't even reach down to grab stuff from my bag under the seat. I fricken hate them (and have 600k miles in my account).
