Another home A/C question.....
I have the typical home split system. Air handler on the inside with the condenser on the outside. Some history on the system: system is 20+ years old. About 4 years ago I had to replace the condenser fan motor. It cools OK, but on August days in Florida it can barely keep up. I'm sure I could use a topping up of freon.
The problem is my condenser will sometimes not stop running even when the air handler is not running. The condenser's fan is running and it sounds as if the condenser is under load. Is this controlled by a relay in the condenser or what? I want some idea of the problem/solution before make the service call. Thanks
