Insulating Attic Over Open Porch Area

We recently purchased a house in Huntsville, AL but it is woefully insulated (i.e., the attic, at best, contains about 1" of blown insulation). The previous owners had planned on finishing the attic and installed 3/4" tongue-and-groove OSB board over 3/4 of the 1,800 square foot attic. Most of the attic has access to blow in insulation between the 2" X 8" joists but the porch area, which also has been covered by the OSB board, has limited (if any) access. My question is that since the porch is open and will never be enclosed, should it be insulated?
