Seriously, why are the monthly totals not in line with YTD totals? Did you know that 83.2% of all internet statistics are made up on the spot?

This is a misrepresenation of what happened.

You said Canada was the number one source of energy imports to the USA, were called on it and got in a whining contest.

How about because neither the monthly nor the YTD are "total"s?

The monthly number is the average thousands of barrels per day during that month. The YTD number is the average thousands of barrels per day during the year to date period. Nether are totals, therefore neither should be expected to sum up to the other.

Did you know that 83.2% of internet users are not competent to understand statistics?

Canada also has something like a third of the world's fresh water. UIpcoming wars will be fought over water. I say we invade Canada now, while we still have the element of surprise.

Yup, and Mexico is #2.

Time to cut off the rest. We are sending too much money to people who do not like us very much.

How will we do that?

Almost all of Canada’s energy exports go to the United States http://www.eia.doe.gov/cabs/Canada/Background.html

The United States receives the vast majority of Mexico’s crude oil exports
http://www.eia.doe.gov/cabs/Mexico/Oil.html

So, where do you plan to find the other 5MM to 6MM bbl/day?

You left out our 'vengeance weapons' - Celine Dion & William Shatner! Also, just to clarify, Tim Hortons is "doughnuts"

By building 100 or so nuclear power plants. And using that energy to generate electricity, heat homes and run industry and take all the saved natural gas to run fleet vehicles. And by raising fuel taxes to Japanese and European levels to drive down consumption. And by drilling more in Alaska and off-shore. Thats how.

Good luck with that plan. Propane maybe, NG, stands for No Go. It just isn't practical. I wish it was, but it isn't.

My little city in Japan had CNG taxis years ago..

Whatever. We could use A LOT less crude oil. I have lived in Japan and traveled in Europe. Smaller cars and more energy efficient buildings goes a long way.

You can't compress NG to a liquid (easily). You can with propane. Therefore propane is better for long range driving.

NG is okay for taxis, buses, and Zamboni's at the arena. Defined routes, short trips, and time to refill aren't a big issue. A big rig can't refill every half hour.

I do not see it as a practical alternative to diesel.

The us invasion

Hmmm... Then our official second language would become Spanish!
I like this idea! Winters in Mexico are much warmer than in Montreal!!! ( ooh..but we get to keep the girls from Montreal, right?) Plus I like the suggestion about more nuclear power generation as they would probably be purchasing raw fuel from sources in northern Saskatchewan!!!
The best time to plan this invasion would be during the NHL playoffs. We would be to busy to notice the flag had even changed!!!
