Have you shopped for aftermarket wheels lately?

I was considering lifting my newer Jeep, and looking for some bigger wheels.
Maybe I am old, and out of touch, but I have shopped at least 4 different vendors, and I guess there is no such thing as a nice simple spun aluminum plain finish wheel anymore. Everything is like 19" and looks like something that Flavor Flav would wear around his neck. All blingy and shiny. If these wheels were free, I still would not put them on my ride. Who designs this schit?

I feel your pain. I would love a simple set of wheels for my El Camino. I want a set of 15 inch Craggers but I can't find anything like that.

Glen, have you looked at repro or OE wheels from a Camaro or Corvette of a similar vintage for your El Camino?

Saw a '71 Monte Carlo that had wheels I think were off a mid '80s Camaro that looked plenty sharp.

Yep, Glen, I have seen pics of your camino that you have posted before, and I personally think that ride screams for a set of Corvette Rally Wheels. Always loved that look

most wheels these days are crap. It's hard to find a nice wheel.

For the el camino, the old style rallye wheel has never looked bad on anything.

these would be ok

I put a set of these in gray on a '70 Buick Skylark once and they looked really good. 80's camaro/S10 wheel.

Or, if you want new, American Racing makes the Torque Thrust D and the Hot Rod and about 3 other wheels that look similar but different to this which is very similar to the Cragars

If you're looking for something more "classic" for the Jeep (meaning 80s and 90s styles) why don't you look at a manuf like American Racing Wheels?

To drive off the lot in a vehicle, any vehicle, with those wheels, they'd have to cut me a discount.

Ditto on Cragar, I had a set of steel soft-8 wheels on my Land Cruiser that looked great. Summit Racing seems to have a good selection of non-bling wheels, but their catalog search engine sucks.

I like the Mickey Thompson Classic IIs. They're shiny but simple, and you can get them in normal sizes.

I really am going to have to find some wheels before my next set of tires. Right now I have stock 14 inch factory rally wheels and there is only one tire maker making the right size tires.

Now because of you I will spend time trying to find the right wheel combo a year or so before I need them.

Glen keep an eye on craigslist. You might score a nice set with good tires on them already....

Same with Jegs, both the selection and the website. But call both for a catalog that you can peruse at your leisure.

Glen, if you like the Rallye style wheel, I am pretty sure that they make them in 17" sizes now, so tire size is not a problem. I think I remember seeing them in The summit catalog in the past.
