My First Benz
A 1974 280E. I'll be the fourth owner. Comes with all service history and only 160,00kms on the clock. Everything works.

Beautiful condition too - that one will run until the second coming. Congrats on the purchase!

I had one of those when I lived in Singapore years ago. Came with a Malay driver. I liked the car so much I used to put him in the back and drive it myself. Those cars are built like bank vaults.

Cool...the 114\115 Chassis cars are starting to come into their own. I enjoy seeing these old cruisers especially in the condition of your car. With 160,000km it has barely been driven, the 2.8L is one of the best engines MB made for this genre. Enjoy it and congrats on picking up your first Mercedes, I love the marque dearly.

I had a 73 much like this one. It was a Great car.
I used to call mine the "generic sedan". It was everything a car should be.

Had an '85 300D. Loved it. Sold it because it was a royal b**** to start in the winter.

Congrats. My first car was a hand-me-down '76 280. 120 HP in a 3500-lb car was a lesson in momentum-conservation. Particularly as we lived on a hill.
Vapor lock left me stranded a couple times. Hard acceleration on a hot day up a long hill, followed by waiting at a stop sign or red light would stall the car. And then you'd have to wait 30 minutes for everything too cool down so that you could restart it. The car was built solidly, though. It makes the supposedly vault-like door of a 911 feel like a tin can in comparison to the closing the door on a Mercedes.
