Can't say I join in this love fest for Mr Self important/self absorbed. (Not to mention perseverating). It is somewhat amazing that there are this many on the BBS that think conceit is charming, but maybe it was all in jest anyway.

You know Art, I doubt anyone would even comment if I were to disappear. Maybe there is something to be said for being colorful and larger than life.

Having owned 4 928s, I must say I never had a problem with him being an outspoken advocate of the 928. In terms of his being a Vituperating Bastige, why, he was so low on the scale here that I just shook my head.

Lets face it. If there was a forum member going by the name Liberal Asshat, there would be about ten guys here who would have been banned at least fifty times since January. If you think Snipe was a conceited bub, you must not know many Porsche owners.

Snipe is not quite average, but he is garden variety around here. At least he wasn't a hypocrite, professing to be a God abiding saint in one breath, and wishing people ill in the next. Snipe never slung mud from the high ground, and he didn't get a free pass either. I have read some pretty nasty stuff here, from wishing people dead to suggesting that we should outright lynch people. But because these foul words were never directly addressed to a forum member, they are allowed to stand.

With such an example of decorum to follow, is it any wonder that people get carried away in their behavior ? Some people here have made ugly an art form that they can practice and enjoy on a daily basis. Others are not so artistic, or simply get frustrated or drawn over the line. Snipe was a very straight shooter compared to some oddly hallowed regulars around here. There may be something rotten in Denmark, but it wasn't Snipe. A lot of people here know that, but have never articulated it. Others admire the stench and aspire to new lows.

A rotten apple may not spoil the whole bunch, but decay spreads regardless.

I guess my taste does not extend to the obnoxious simply for its memorability. To suggest that memorability via being offensive is admirable is concerning don't you think? This is no different than the celebrity goal of any news to (keep you in the spotlight), is better than none - a sex tape, or getting arrested for DUI is just fine thank you. One of the problems with people IMHO.
Fine you (& whoever) like the 928, doesnt mean that the 911 is a crap design. But overall, this was a minor part of what was wrong with him. Instead of rational thought all he had was overbearing repetition.

Can't say I recall all of that that did not result in punishment (witness Mulholland, Fastpat etc). A lot of it had to do with PARF which is thankfully separated from the rest of the OT.
Don't know where this is coming from, but one can be a straight shooter without saying the same thing over & over again - most of it about how great you are, and that nobody else slept in a Holiday Inn last night.

I never said that there is any conspiracy, but there are times that things are not done the same way for everyone. As well never said a thing about you and know that you are not "tour to the island island qualified" so to speak!

As for surface to air projectiles, last time I looked the LE frowns on the general public having these, so a slingshot would have to do. Next pass Normy makes will put dog turds with garlic in it and hope for a direct hit! :)

Since he's not here to defend himself I will. A) snipe is in his 40s and b) he never dated or boasted about having sex with underage girls they were always over 18 and more power to him. In addition women always know what they are getting into with snipe no pretensious bs what you see is what you get

I don't think I can agree with the statements that I have bolded. Someone earlier mentioned the DSM IV. I would say he is more like a "box of chocolates".

Agree and its funny the things that people say when they feel that he will not return and call them on it.

Everyone that I know of was 19-24 or so, well above legal age. If they are silly enough to take half of their clothes off and let him take photos of themselves with his "spoons" then post them on PPOT, then hope both of them had fun!

I agree - also those girls will have some great stories to tell to their grand children (in about 12 years)...
