Nope, it's not for sissies. It's like feeling a little sick and a little tired......all the time.

Now I understand why old farts rely on alcohol.

I'm 53 and still feel pretty good. My eyes are not what they once were. I have had to use reading glasses for the last few years so that sucks. And my hearing is not good either. We just got back from my Grandma's birthday party last weekend, she is 99 and still lives in her own home and is not on any medication. The last few years she is starting to look very frail though. But we are planning a big party for her next year.

I did notice that I was getting older when I started checking out the cheerleader's Mom's more than the cheerleader's. And the cart girl's at the club are younger than my kid's.

I have to admit I felt a little bad after the only active player in the NHL that is older than me officially retired (again?) last week.
Chris Chelios is 48..... He must be damn near bullet proof to play at that level for so long.

I had a house cleaner come in for one day earlier this year. She's no Spring chicken and has fibromyalgia. So, she tells me that she works behind Vicodin. Well, yeah, she kicked my ass as I worked the outside washing windows as she did the inside. We split the house, she got the tough rooms and I got a couple bedrooms and the living room. The next day I was on my ass. Vicodin. When hard work becomes cake. |

Vicodin, beer...
you need to do what one MD does and mix up a cocktail of testosterone and human growth hormone -- shoot that up and see what happens |

Thanks for all the replies, fellas.
I was in the grocery store this evening and saw a friend that I haven't seen in a while. His hair was all grey... Interesting. KT

This year, at 70 - when 50-year olds started beating me for the first time because I can't see well enough to drive a modified autocross car very fast any longer.
That, and the 25-year old bartenderess I was chasing referring to me as "that little old man at the end of the bar". She's still a friend, but not so much.

Geez you guys, lighten up! I am looking at 63 this February and never felt better in my life! Most of you are going through a mid-life crisis! You know, "whats it all about Alfie" kind of thing! Fortunately for you, you're already a step ahead of the dreamers. Your driving a Porsche, staying active and movin on.
Yes, your going to get old and before you know it, the kids will be out of the house, your bouncing your grandchildren on your knee and you notice those wrinkles around your eyes are just from years of character and experience. Your friends will have gray thining hair, you cannot keep your eyes off your 28 year old son's girlfriend, man boobs will often get you down, you need bigger numbers on your cell phone to read and those hot pepeers you snacked on as a kid are now causing severe acid reflux! With age comes wisdom gentlemen and as one of the elders that frequents this forum and a Porsche owner for over 35 years I will tell you that simply you cannot stop the clock or the aging process. SO don not get so down........................I am here to tell you that 60 is the new 40 and its fantastic. Bob |

Hear Hear, I second that thought Sunroof.
I was driving to the office this morning and said to myself, No, you can't be this old. On the pain point, I was so far into vicodin, percodin, codeine back in my 50's that it only dulled the pain, trust me not a good path. Besides it makes you like a Jeckel and Hyde personality. Believe it or not my instant motivation to get alot of work done is the herb, a few sniffs and I am off to the races. But heck why, when you can put off work for another day, it never goes away, so those projects will eventually get done. The Southern mentality used to drive me crazy in my youth but now it is right on, can't believe I thought you could actually finish work .

Agreed. I was referring to its calming and pain-killing properties at the END of the day. Every day.
