Moles are taking over

Other than watching the mounds move with shotgun or shovel in hand, any way to actually make them leave?

Same here except I may have groundhogs also. I know that the repellent hose end sprays work but you need to be religious about it until they get sick and tired of the stuff and never come back.

Just get a daschund. The trenches may get bigger for a short time but the critters will be gone in short order. The daschund will think it is great fun!

You may have grubs, a favorite food for them. When I had them a few years ago I treated for grubs and the moles disappeared.

Moles = get chickens, they like moles, it tastes like, well, CHIKEN!!!!!

Groundhogs = small arms or a Terrier, they think it tastes like chicken

Our chickens have taken care of the mole, mouse, rat issue. We are about 10 acres free of pesky rodents. If I could only get the chickens to range over a larger area. They also clear out ticks, fleas, flies, and other pesky varmints. Drawback is they are not litter trained. You will find where they have been.

I have 5 acres, ~1 acre of nice lawn around our house.

These things are the best!

Plant daffodils, Allium giganteum, Mexican marigold, and spurge (mole plant).
And treat your ground for beetle and grub infestation.

Mole traps work pretty good. Nice to find the little b@stards with the trap jammed through their lifeless little bodies. Not that I had a problem with them killing my plants and ruining my yard

I have two dachshunds, neither of which enjoy going into holes but they do get a kick out of chasing rabbits and the like. I'd suggest smoking the moles out and flooding the holes.

My 65 year old neighbor backed his old F150 into the yard and ran a shop vac hose from the exhaust pipe down into the mole hole. He then proceeded to set the truck on fast idle for about 15 minutes. Said he was going to smoke 'em out.

Entertaining for me to watch anyway.

How old an F150? You need a carbed version to kill them with Carbon Monoxide

Oh, and it could be worse. Those could be fire-ant mounds...

Safer than the propane/match trick I guess.
