yet another site i will never order from again

earlier this year my family knew i was planning on redoing my interior, and unknown to me they ordered a few hundred dollars in gift cards from P erformance P roducts / a utomotion / e cklers. i had never dealt with them before, but once i got the gifts i called to place an order for carpet. i had been pricing out carpet sets and while they were competitive with out host they had a 10% off sale going at the time so they won the price wars. called to place my order only to find out they only supplied the carpet in black, useless to me and my brown interior. a couple weeks later everyone's cards were refunded and they had to give me the gifts again, in cash.

i just finished the interior including dying a set of 993 seats to brown and wanted to prolong their life as much as i could. i found a product called auto chaps which are basically neoprene bolster protectors.

i could only find two vendors online, the above mentioned site and a no-name little shop site (wayne - pick up this item! :P). my experienced has found that i am usually better off to stick with the larger company so they got my order. a week goes by and i have no tracking information for the $16 cost of shipping a few ounces of neoprene. i tried to call them back today which took 4 attempts. the first three times i was immediately put on hold and at 11mins30secs i was hung up on each time. finally on the 4th call i got a sales rep who was useless and he says the vendor drop ships them directly and they have no tracking. i ask for the vendor information and i am told they do not give that information out. at this point i had had enough and told him to cancel my order. he does not have the power to do this and i have to talk to customer service. amazingly cs is gone for the day after 4pm, so now i have to wait until tomorrow to call and cancel. i said to hell with it and called my cc company to dispute the charges. let them deal with some bull**** this time.

so, a word of warning. based on my experiences i would highly suggest you stay away from them.

Not the first bad feedback I've heard about them. Too many good companies (our host) out there to deal with the bad ones.

Nothing burns me more than when companies grossly overcharge for shipping.

I recently sent a nasty e-mail to MidwayUSA (gun stuff) after they tried to charge me $92 to ship $200 worth of pistol primers and powder (about 10lbs total weight) from Chicago to Toledo. The charge should have been $35 max (which would have included the $25 haz fee).
They tried to sneak it in right at the end of the on-line order process. I am sure many people are lured in by their "special sales prices" only to later find they got hosed on grossly inflated shipping charges.

They can kiss my azz.... I WILL NEVER order from them again and I will tell every shooter I know to avoid the thieving b@stards like the plague.

Tim, I order from MidwayUSA all the time. I've cancelled orders over the hazmat fee before completing them, and didn't feel like they "snuck it in".

I usually have my range special-order stuff for me. Yeah, it will be more expensive than Midway's list price, but it will be cheaper when you factor in the hazmat and shipping fees.

Also, last time I checked, CheaperThanDirt does not charge the hazmat fee (though their prices are usually higher than Midway's).
