				Passing of Shawn357

Shawn Muscat was killed in a light airplane accident Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Arizona.

I met Shawn a POC event at Willow Springs a couple years ago. I didn't know him well, but he offered to help with my engine drop on my track car shortly after I met him, with advice on tools, time and supplies. Always offered advice on anything mechanical. Really a nice guy that lived in the same town (Poway, CA). Although I'm involved in aviation, I just heard about this crash this morning in an email from the POC. Shawn frequented Pelican and had the same demeanor online as he did in person. Godspeed to Shawn and his family he has left behind. Sorry if something has already been posted, I did a search to no avail. |

Wow. Really sad. We figured out that we both work for the same company awhile ago. He was on my list of people to visit if I made it out to CA.

It would seem one of his last threads was eerily relevant/prophetic. RIP bud.

Oh my, that is the thread that he started regarding the flight that took his life. He was a passenger. I wish he would've contacted me about his fear of flying. An experimental aircraft doesn't really have the greatest safety record behind it to instill confidence in flying.

Wow. One of the saddest stories I've heard of in a while. Godspeed to Shawn and Glen. Who knows what they were dealing with in that airplane.
