Chances are that the conference takes place in the Faculty Club which is part of the Grand Beguinage (Unesco world heritage). Everything is within walking distance, the brand new museum M is certainly worth visiting. The botanical garden is small but very relaxing. Send me a PM if you want to go for a MTB ride in the area around Leuven, I've got plenty of bicycles and there's some really nice trails out here.
