i-Pad question
So I'm trying to set up my new ipad to run on my home wireless network.
The Ipad shows my network with a strong signal etc—but shows a little black padlock next to the icon. Anyone know how to unlock this? I must say the fact that they don't include manuals with their products any more and expect you to do everything on line is a huge PITA IMO. And I can't find the answer to this on line.

It means your network requires a password.
Settings>WiFi then click on your network name. Enter password.

Actually the Ipad is simple to compare to the iPhone 4...
I just receive "iPhone 4 made simple" book (ISBN 9781430231929)... 809 pages... I guess the in-depth version will be a 12 volumes encyclopedia ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yeah, your network needs a password, you've got to put the password in the ipad. IIRC, click "settings" then "network", then I think there's a wireless section.

Thanks guys. Yup password. The prompt is "Customer ID" and that is what threw me off.
Many thanks. Mark.

Also, if you go to the iStore, you can download free user manuals for both the iPhone and iPad that can be read with the iBooks app on both devices.
