I just drove by it a couple weeks ago, what an amazing piece of engineering. Photos don't do it justice, gotta see it in person. Also saw it a year ago before the arches met, was pretty cool then too.

Looks like this event is closed now and coming a few weeks early, as it's not open to traffic until November. I'm riding to Vegas on Sunday and will probably take the route through Laughlin to avoid all the tourists at the Dam. It's such a pain in the ass to crawl through that mess, especially with an air-cooled Porsche or BMW bike due to engine overheating. The route through Laughlin is 30 miles longer, but I can do triple digit speeds for a lot of the distance. When I come back home on Tues., I'll probably take the Dam route, since tourist traffic is much lighter during the week.

I am staying in Laughlin. I have never been to Las Vegas and don't ever plan on going. It will only be open to foot traffic and the wife though it would be a neat adventure. I hate crowds but can manage as long as I sleep in a holiday inn!!

Well that was a short trip. My wife was just informed she will be attending a nursing conference this weekend.
