Holy smokes!!!! That is crazy looking!

I would definately not be the one whose task it was to remove the hook from the fish's mouth...

Bahhh

I grew up shark fishing with my dad.... I used to mount the jaws..

Funny thing,, you can separate a sharks head from its body.. and the head still has the ability to bite..

So... that fish was still alive and kicking when that photo was taken....

I have wrestled with fish half that size and there is no ******ed way I'd even think about trying to hold that thing still for a picture. That dude is nuts....

You should watch the show. It was an episode of "River Monsters". There is another one, also in Africa, where they catch Bull Sharks miles upriver.

River Monsters : Goliath Tigerfish : Animal Planet

Its on Animal Planet.

I get the joke, but the Tigerfish is African. It is the only fish thought to be able to navigate up and down the tremendously deep and swift Congo river. In places it is so deep there are blind, deep-sea like fish. In others, there is so much water shear that species evolve differently on different sides because the current is too strong to get to the other side. The Tigerfish appears to be able to move at will, as the biggest, strongest, apex predator in the river.

We have large Alligator Gar in Oklahoma. A gar is a joke next to that.

I am REAL glad that tigerfish in the North America!

The pic in the link in the first post is a bit misleading. They're big and ugly, but I think the angles and lens choice may have made the fish seem bigger than it really is. I still wouldn't want to screw with it.

Yea, but those live in the ocean, not fresh water.

MARATHON — A marine mystery unfolded in the Florida Keys on Sunday, when something leapt from the water, punctured the lung of a woman in a kayak and returned to the ocean.

Karri Larson, 46, of Cudjoe Key, was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she was listed Monday afternoon in serious but stable condition in the intensive care unit.

It's unclear what attacked her. Several species are capable of leaping from the water, but only a few can inflict that sort of injury. Unlike other incidents of this sort, the creature didn't remain in the boat to be identified but disappeared over the side.

I am glad those are extinct.

My first thought when we were leaving the theater after seeing Jurassic Park was that I am glad dinosaurs are extinct.
