Back Easter's, How Much is a Log of Taylor Pork Roll?
I remember as a kid relatives would bring it to the midwest for my dad, a native Philadelphian. It had that fabric casing, we'd slice it thin and put it in the skillet for a few minutes, then put it on toast with mustard and onions. Dang that stuff is good.
I'd gladly Paypal somebody if they could send me some...

Love the stuff. My dad would cut 3 or 4 slits around the edges to keep them from curling in the skillet. We called it Taylor's Ham, though.
We can get it at Central Market here in Austin.

Kaos- I don't think it would keep with out being cold for a flight from the East Coast to Kali, but nothing a cheap collapsible lunch box and a gel pack cant handle.
I grew up in Wildwood. Our boardwalk had two Taylor pork roll stores back in the 70's. They would plop a 1/4" thick slice of pork roll on the flame top wit cheese and put on a lightly toasted kaiser roll. Top dat wit a dollop of katsup. Heaven! ![]() |
