Any Ideas how to kill 3 days in the Orlando area in January ?.

We are taking the little one to Disney in a couple of weeks. Our stay at Disney ends on Thursday, we are in no special hurry to get back home to the cold and snow. Any thing worth checking out in the Orlando, Northeastern Florida area this time of year?

Cape Canaveral Space launch area and museum make for a fun day. Then up to Daytona, there is more than Nascar that happens there. I bet there is a museum there that covers the sports car racing history. Check to see if your dates overlap with then Rolex 24Hrs.

Cocoa Beach or Satellite Beach aren't bad either, just be careful, becuase this is the time of year the jellyfish may be washing up on shore.

KSC is definitely worth the trip. Lots of fun. And a drive south to Ron Jon's isn't a bad way to kill an hour or two either (Cocoa Beach).

Ron Jon - Cape Canaveral - St Augustine is worth checking out. Coca Beach - Daytona is pretty neat for kids - but weather dependent - (GoKarts - Putt Putt - that sort of thing)

I personally like the beaches over on my coast better (clearwater, St. Pete)

Daytona 24 Hrs is the weekend of the 29th - that's a fun event. Not sure how old your kids are, but Universal is a neat amusement park - better rides than Disney, IMO. Cocoa's nice.

Great advice so far. Also consider that Orlando also has Sea World, Universal Studios, etc. Consider the Tampa Zoo, or Busch Gardens.

Ugh. I avoid Ron Jon's if at all possible. My mother used to live walking distance from there. You can get anything there for much cheaper elsewhere.

And now they built some timeshares just before the Florida RE crash, so you get to enjoy timeshare salesmen following you around the store and pitching them to you as you shop!

The best part is if you are dumb enough to buy a timeshare "with a view of Port Canaveral", you find out that what you have a view of is Port Canaveral's diesel storage tanks.

Orange Blossom Trail nudie bars, Charlie's Steak House and Kennedy Space Center.

If you haven't already made arrangements for where you are going to stay after disney I suggest the Ron Jon's resort. It's great for kids, has a play center that the little ones will love as well as a fantastic pool and is right on the beach.

It's also minutes from KSC.

Splash Mountain and Typhoon Lagoon - We do both when we go down (over). The kids love them. You can spend a day at each. They can never decide which they like better. Also Busch Gardens was nice. Disney, MGM, Universal and Epcot are a must do. That shyt will wear your arse out though...
