When they get a proper conveyor system to load the hopper, that will be a major improvement.
But, the guys on the assembling platform are working like dogs to feed that thing. I'll bet it could be automated. On a similar note, I knew a man that invented a brick or block mortar laying machine. You would place it on top of a course of block and it would trolley down the row leaving 2 rows of wet mortar for the next course. The thing almost killed brick layers working them so hard moving brick and block into position. I think the mason's union sent him down with Hoffa, cement blocks tied to him. |

Brick roads have so much character. Maybe with cheap automation the US will do more of it? On a similar note, isn't Lubemaster working on a pipe laying machine!!?? ![]() |

He just wishes he was laying some pipe.
Brick roads are good for specialty areas and they need a substantial base. I noticed the loaders coming from both the newly paved side as well as the back. To drive those rubber tired vehicles on the newly finished road AND on the bare base tell you it's probably already concrete. We aren't going to see many regular streets made like that in this country. |

Very cool.
I did a large side patio + steps etc & it is real work. But like Milt said, the finished product is only as good as the subsurface & preparation. Mine hasn't heaved in 10 years of Canadian winters but it took me a month. Ian
