at the airport
at the airport now, observations as follows:
short lines (of course) but 12 TSA blue shirts everywhere. Most were doing nothing. I went through the scanner, watched side pat downs, they were not intrusive at all and were faster than waiting in line for the machine Guy watching what goes through the tunnel should be fired. old fat guy couldn't focus on the screen. kept looking away, here and there. SLOW. guy greeting you at the line was super friendly standard tray pile-up after the tunnel. you'd think with all the TSA standing around they could manage to take the trays away. Two machines at Delta. Can't imagine flying on Wednesday, lines will be out the door and a lot of angry people. everyone in the line were clearly fliers. Shoes off early, laptops out...we seem to be doing our part to keep things moving.

What's happening Wednesday that will make the lines longer? Looking at a short flight out of Buffalo this week or next with my daughter.

I think the biggest holdup Wednesday will be the idiots trying to mess with the TSA that end up just causing huge lines...

I always thought the Wednesday before Thanksgiving was the busiest travel day for this holiday but the local news reported that the Monday right before is the busiest.

I heard on the History Channel that it is a myth that Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the busiest flying day of the year. It was a preview for some Thanksgiving history show so they did not say what is usually the busiest day.

If I remember correctly, it's actually Fridays in the summer that are the busiest, but the Wednesday before thanksgiving isn't far behind.

If you get selected for the pat-down... After the TSA agent explains the new screening procedures, asked him "I'm confused, when your done, do we get to spoon?"
