Picked up an old Binks Compressor

Cheap CL purchase, they sure dont build them like this anymore. Did a little rod resizing/bushing, new wrist pins, polished the crank, cleaned up the head and all is good.

The good and bad is there are no parts for these things anymore so you get them cheap. You have to make your own parts, it had a noisy rod, the wrist pins were shot so you make new ones and bush the rod small end and cut the big end caps down and ream them back to size. The head you can get reeds yet just have to grind the seats.

Nice restore. Looks like a pretty new motor, too!

(and, yes, I am a little envious that you have the tools and knowledge to buff that thing back to life!)

Thanks for sharing the story!

I have the air plumbed into my garage and have an extra 30 gal storage tank up in the rafters of the garage so I should have about 60 gal total storage

Nice job..... Nothing like the satisfaction of making old stuff good as new again.

1 HP. They would call that 3 or more today. That old rig is very cool.
