new car porn

Just popped my aircooled dd cherry and bought a 1974 914 1.8 for the sum of $2500. brakes need to be gone through but overall a very clean car. I only have the pictures that i took prior to loading it on the trailer for the ride home.. i will take more in the daylight and apologize that they're not the best...

If it is rust free I think you got a bargain.

I used a 914 as my only car for over 20 years.

It will need new longitudinals, for now they're ok and have metal welded in place but other than that the floors are clean except for a dime sized spot on the drivers rear... The guy i bought it off of took exceptional care of it and did alot of work on it

It looks clean... but we all know what's hiding under those black running panels.
Are those glass bumpers?

the karmann tag is on the drivers side front door jam. Should give you an idea of original color. my guess is phoenix red.

Pic is pretty blurry...Are those the original in the bumper fog lights? If so those lenses are pretty much NLA...and they are the same as this lens..So, even if rusted out housings...keep the lenses, advertise 'em on the S registry...

Usually the original thru the bumper fogs on teeners lost their lenses early & rusted out quickly because of their location. But the lenses were identical to the lenses used on the "through the grill" fogs used on early 911's with USA equipment through the grill fogs...considered "cool" by the early 911 set these days.

The spare lenses I gave Evren with the car came off a wrecked 914 here...

Kind of funny, I always preferred the cleaner look of the 911 without the fog lights, but since they were put on by the factory, I left 'em on my old car.
