Are you queuing up early on Friday?
 

I don't understand why people do this. Just don't get it. I make it a rule to not step foot inside a retail (other than gun, liquor or grocery) store from about this week through the first week of January. And you know what? It takes just about no effort at all, life goes on and I give excellent Xmas presents. Why do people behave like starved rats on Black Friday? What's wrong with the world?

I'll probably spend this Friday driving around Death Valley. Shouldn't be too crowded.

No effing way will I go to any store this weekend. When I shop, I do it on line if possible. Otherwise I hit the Burbank mall at lunch mid week and it's not too bad.

I hope to "cue" up on Friday. ;)

Listening to drive-time news radio today. Slow news day I guess. But they had some retail industry marketing guy being interviewed - and he was gushing over stats that show 48% of Americans plan to shop on Friday morning! Even if that is an inflated number - that is just crazy..

If it were free, I wouldn't go out on Friday. I guess I'm rich since I don't have to put myself through that madness to save a few bucks. Online shopping is fine by me. I'd rather pay double shipping than any state's sales tax.

Not so much. I chose tonight to trek into our Walmart hoping it would be dead and I was right. Snagged multiple boxes of .45 ammo for the range. Good prices too, $31 for a 100 rounds of good ole Winchester FMJ. I should have bought more though. Oh well, I'm not going back till next year :)

I think it's more the sport of the "deal" than any real savings. We like lower lap times, more accurate shooting, cooler gadgets.....some people want to be the guy that got the $39.99 laptop. Good for them.

I have to work. Luckily, my clients are not near any shopping centers/malls. I dislike crowds during non-holiday shopping anyway so it's the last place I want to be.

We don't need anything THAT bad.

I tend to NEVER leave the house on 'Black Friday'. I usually play pool, work on stuff, hang x-mas lights, PS3 games, etc. I don't even like dealing with the traffic. Besides that I really don't like dealing with crowds any time of the year.

EDIT - I also know people that go out at 10pm on t-day and pull allnighters to save a few bucks. Sad...

Not a chance, I cant stand the crowds. Thing is, my gym is part of the local mall. Parking stinks for the next ~6 weeks.

Black Friday is only slightly worse than the bar scene the night before Thanksgiving. I stay home these days, traffic makes me:mad:

I have to go to work at Radioshack at 830 on friday... We are a small franchise store and see no point in opening early for the sale...

since the g/f works at a mall (not just any mall, but the "Great" mall) and employees are instructed to park at the train station far away to save parking for the shoppers, I've been unfortunately tasked to deal with the masses and drop her off at work. I think I'm gonna take the crew cab dually pickup...these people tend to have driving manners only when faced with something much bigger than them.

I can't stand crowds and most online stores are now offering free shipping so it really makes no sense to go out and fight the idiots, lines and traffic.

Black Friday to me is depressing. It is disturbing to see people behave like cattle.

Im not leaving the house on Friday. Im going to hang the rear control arms on and have the motor in by noon.....maybe 10 if I dont run out of coffee! Been waiting to do this since 1983!

That's a coincidence, I'm planning to change a CV joint on Friday. Then go to dim sum.
