Top Gear Apocalypse

New Top Gear DVD out, just finished watching...pretty good. (No Clarkson or Stig, just Hammond and May).

Anyway, the premise is post nuclear war driving.

One question was posed and I thought it was interesting.

If there was only one barrel of fuel left in the world, which car would you use it in?

A Bugatti would be great, but you would burn right through it.
An Elise would be fun and last a while.

So, what car would you pick?

No doubt I'd take a practical approach to this one.

I would use it in my Elise-light 911. No contest. I could get a nice lap of Mulholland Highway-Stunt-Piuma-...

They chose the Bowler Nemesis, the original Mini Cooper, Ferrari F40, and one other i cannot think of.

If I was going the Bike route, I would use the On-Off Road BMW bike...seems like you could get anywhere with that.

But for sheer fun.....I would choose the rare 1983 Renault Alliance L. (It was my first car.....)

Actually, that was crap....I would want to have fun, so maybe the Ariel Atom.

Ariel Atom V8 sounds like a good idea. And when the oil runs out: Look- It is standing there and not falling over.

Does it have to be a car?

I'd put it in my airplane.

A street bike after the apocalypse?! You guys are nuts, you need something to crush the minions as you escape the chaos.
