Here's a twist to this thread............wanna learn how to cook some yummy food?,

There is an new amazing technology............that is called Cookbooks, and I cleaned house as I don't need 2-3 dozen books in my cabinets

I hate giving these away to Goodwill, so up for grabs for $20 shipped to you are these wonderful Wok, Oriental, Italian, Hot pepper, BBQ, Seafood and other cook books, heck I'll even toss in two teflon semi-automatic cooking implements of mass destruction.

PM me if interested, I already have everything stuffed in a $13 flat rate shipping box, so for $20 paypal cash to me, you'll get some great cooking ideas.

Please don't make me store these till next years Pelican Christmas gift exchange!!!

Not pretty plating but pretty tasty, Caesar with pan-fried sockeye over steamed and fried (in duck fat) fingerlings. Washed down with a very tasty Oregon Pinot Noir.

Braising some beef short ribs. I will serve it over egg noodles probably. With a bottle of 2002 Chateau Haut Batailley.

That looks fantastic.

Over here, in weight watchers land, we have

Salad of field greens, sirloin strip, candied walnuts, blue cheese.

Black rice risotto with Chinese sausage, almonds. (This looked less like a cow patty when it was fresh from the pot; the family took their sweet time getting organized for dinner grrrrr).

You can make healthy fries. Peal, chop and wash potatoes. Put in a baggie with a teaspoon of olive oil. Add seasoning salt. Mix well and bake @ 350f for 40 min. Stir 1/2 way along.

Can you tell it is diet time chez me?

Dinner tonight. Chicken strips, pressed with mesquite seasoning, grilled. Beet greens sautéed in duck fat. Brocolli.

The side was bean and quinoa salad. All washed down with a glass of homemade beet-carrot-ginger juice. I decided to spare you those pictures.

isn't that just called a baked potato without the sourcream, bacon bits, and green onions?

i would fry fries..no problemo!!

you have to make them yourself...you would be surprised how little fries you eat

americas test kitchen has a method that you put fries in cold oil..and eat it all up together. crazy. they come out crispy and not greasy. my friend did this method with a duck fat, veggie oil mix. it works.
