Musical instruments and Humidity

Hey Guys
I bought a banjo to take to work and play a bit while in camp. Camp is in the Jungle with super hot and dry and real heavy humidity all in the same day, I have the lined case for it and was wondering how the wet climate was going to effect it. Thought of making a plywood box and hang a bulb in it to keep it dry. Am I over thinking this and is it going to be OK or should I take some extra precautions?

when i had a banjo, i did not have many problems with it. i live in upstate NY where there are dramatic humidity and temp changes and extreme dryness in winter.

keep it in the case when not playing.

watch 1) the fret ends for sharpness which indicates the wood is drying out and shrinking and
2) mold/mildew growing in the case if very humid....maybe toss in some of those moisture absorbing packets.

otherwise, i wouldnt worry too much about excess humidity since the body is metal
