Update on my neighbor problem

Don't know if you guys remember, But back in Sept., I had a problem with my neighbor. Guy got drugged up busted into my house , attacked my wife.

Link to the thread..

Anyway. just heard back from the prosecutor. Looks like the scumbags getting off scot free! Grand jury knocked it down to a "disorderly person" charge in municipal court.

So basically he will get a ticket. Same as playing his car radio to loud.

I am beyond raging.

Justice and our legal system sometimes miss the boat

Paul K 12-15-2010 05:39 AM

I just posted this in another thread. Seems appropriate here too...

First, get a court order of protection for you and your wife.
Second -- sue the guy for damages both physical and emtional. Take him to the cleaners. Nobody messes with a people like that and gets away with it.

I know those suggestions really don't help much for now, but in the long run, they may be your best options.
-Z-man.

VINMAN 12-15-2010 05:52 AM

Z, we all ready have an OOP, but as you know it is just a scrap of paper. Especially when dealing with someone who is not all there.

Rick Lee 12-15-2010 05:54 AM

Too bad you live in NJ, since you'd end up in jail for defending yourself next time.

Agreed! Contact your representatives and complain. This is the only way that eventually you guys will be able to defend yourselves.

The Gaijin 12-15-2010 06:11 AM

Hire a lawyer and get a well crafted one page letter sent back to the prosecutor. Even if you need to buy ad space, get this letter re-printed in the local paper(s). Whenever the local DA is up for re-election, get a version of this letter distributed far and wide within your community.

You are a great guy Vinny, I hate to hear this. If this dirtbag is still in the area, you may consider moving, if only for the mental health of the family. Otherwise, get a big dog, and a shotgun. All the best.

M.D. Holloway 12-15-2010 06:33 AM

Your in Jersey, those things are 'taken care of' all the time - nothing a post hole digger and some lye can't fix!

Rick Lee 12-15-2010 06:48 AM

I'm headed to NJ tomorrow for two weeks and can't stand the thought of being unarmed for so long.

Edit - I mean disarmed.

I do'nt know what you mean...

ODDJOB UNO 12-15-2010 06:54 AM

vinny sorry to hear that. been there done that with my goofy azz canucks. but on the bright side with my situation, it appears the kid, ran into their very own wall with a vehicle. wasted wall, wasted vehicle. have not seen hide nor hair of them since. wish i was there for that one. neighbor had a hell of a laugh.

butt come dec 21 2010, i will be visiting "hottie judge" and reapplying for the R.O>(restraining order) to cover my azz in the event of a total mental breakdown on their part. here R.O.'s only last (1) year unless specified "LIFETIME" (which i am asking for) and just to stick it to them, and show i mean bizzness............and BECAUSE I CAN!

His front door is 75 ft from mine. Too close for comfort, but im not giving up that easy and packing it in.

I like your letter idea.

ODDJOB UNO 12-15-2010 07:19 AM

there is still 10 shopping days until xmas to run out a get a vial full of CURARE, and start placing it yer hollowpoints, and sealing it with candle wax.

a wonderful gift idea if i have ever heard of one.

good luck with this. i do feel yer pain, as i am having to deal with my goofier than hell neighbors crap.

alot of people gave me crap about my situation, some of it was funny as hell and made me laugh when i needed it. but when it happens to you or your loved ones its a whole'nuther story.

an R.O. is a vey very powerful tool if used correctly against him. ya just gotta have documentation. pictures, witness' etc etc.

once an R.O. is in place, the POO-LICE are bound BY LAW to act on it(put the bastid in jail) or they will be found in violation of not enforcing the law.

dhoward 12-15-2010 07:24 AM

A R.O. ain't squat to someone who's already out there.

Exactly!

pwd72s 12-15-2010 08:20 AM

The "justice system" is all too often a joke! Vinny, you have a good head on your shoulders, you'll figure out the best path of action.

It's actually really hard to dig a body sized hole with a post-hole digger. Definately the wrong tool for the job.

But if you were to cut em up into small pieces and dig several holes ..............

Joe Bob 12-15-2010 10:46 AM

Sue the court that issued the OOP. Make them enforce the penalties.

If the guy was a regular citizen with bucks, you KNOW he'd be run thru the fiscal mill.

I'm a little uneasy with how sure you seem of that knowledge. Dredging back long-repressed memories of dating redheads.

Vinny tough break man. Hang in there and CYA.

enzo1 12-15-2010 11:15 AM

55 gallon plastic drum, screw on lid, filled with acid?

stomachmonkey 12-15-2010 11:25 AM

Vin,

You should try to friend him.

Maybe share a bonding experience.

Does he like fishing?

You could take him out to the Canyon.

Racerbvd 12-15-2010 11:27 AM

Vinny, that totally sucks:mad::mad::mad:

I prefer a good garbage disposal unit..

I don't know. A Backhoe loader with one of these would work...

Oh Haha 12-15-2010 03:35 PM

Sorry to hear this news, Vinny.

CYA and do what's right for your family.

I bet the Hudson is mighty cold about now. You know, if a fella was to accidently "fall" in.

Normy 12-15-2010 03:56 PM

Dude, I typically advocate following laws, but in your case, I think you need to acquire a "zip" gun. That is, an unlicensed and unregistered handgun. You need the find the BASTARD that did this to you, and figure out a way to lure him to a commercial park late at night. Bust a couple caps in the bastards ass, and then leave his stupid carcass for the raccoons to eat! That is what I would do if it had happened to me. Large south Florida reptiles are another good idea for body disposal!

N!

vash 12-15-2010 04:22 PM

that sucks..i would gather up all the rest of the neighbors over a few bottles of wine and work out a strategy. watch out for each other, stuff like that..exchange phone numbers.

the old ladies on my block would fumagate vermin like that..fast.

carambola 12-15-2010 04:41 PM

i don't know how it is done in central jersey, but done here in south jersey the new trend is bodies flying out of small planes in the pine barrens. something to think about

Aurel 12-15-2010 05:00 PM

Guys, guys...you are complicating the process way too much: He is a drug addict, overdoses happen:rolleyes:. That takes care of body disposal.

pwd72s 12-15-2010 05:57 PM

My what a murderous batch we have posting here... :D

ODDJOB UNO 12-15-2010 06:11 PM

WHO KNOWS what EVIL LURKS HERE?????????????????????

only da shadow KNOWS!

vinny tag 'em and bag 'em..................................NEXT!

artplumber 12-15-2010 08:53 PM

Don't you have a local TV channel with a "fix it" person? Tell your story to them, give onions to your wife to make sure she cries in the interview.....

Tobra 12-15-2010 10:15 PM

You do have a shotgun I trust.

Motion lights and video cams would be in place if I had that sort of pest problem.

No, it is part of a trail of public records that serve YOU. Keep it up, and don't stop.

I have a message that I convey to people that I don't like or trust. But that is me.

I understand what u are saying Dan. But public records wont mean shyte after the fact, if someone in my family ( or anyone else on my block) is harmed.

Also, to echo you, When I dont like you or trust you. It will be crystal clear, and very well broadcast.

drcoastline 12-16-2010 07:26 AM

Vin-

Does he own or rent? If he is a renter put pressure on the landlord. You cab sue the landlord for damages. I would bet the scumbag will be gone in short order.

Stomachmonkey you beat me to it. I was going to suggest an overnight shark fishing trip. Sometimes accidents happen. Like a slippery deck. The out come in a chum slick with mako's around usuallly don't end well.

techweenie 12-16-2010 07:36 AM

Terrible story, Vinman. I'm not one of those loons who wants to kill people for b&e and petty theft, but an assault on a loved one gets the imagination going. There are legal remedies but all are slow. The appeal of a quick resolution is understandable. Just be very careful to keep yourself out of jail. You can't protect your home from behind bars.

I heard it once said that "justice is only an occasional product of the legal system."
