My bloods boiling! Need some advice.

This is gonna be long, so bear with me.

Last night, had a very bad incident at my house. I was in my basement , was getting ready to leave to go out. All of a suden I hear my neighbor screaming for help. The guys yelling about fire, hes gonna die, etc, etc. So I run up the stair to se what going on. Next thing I know he bust through my front doorscreaming, runs up the stairs,and grabs my wife. Picks her up up slams her into the wall. and carries her and slams her on the floor and falls on top of her. Screaming that he needs us to help him. ( He was tripping on something). I jump on him and try to pul him off her because he banging her head on the ground. I get him in a headlock and slam him down to get him away from her. Now he grabs me and holding on to me. She jumps up and runs in the other room. Im screaming to call the cops and trying to hold and calm him down. I try to drag him out on my deck and get him out of the house because he flailing around and trashing everything. To make it short, it get him out and he jumps off my deck and runs away down the block. The whole time she is on the phone with 911 freakin out.
Anyway we wait for the cops to come., 10 mins, 20 mins no show. My other nieghbors outside with us trying to calm her down. I call the police back screaming , that they werent here. The dispatcher "oh, dont worry we got him we took him to the hospital." WTF!!?? I'm like why isnt the a cop here?? She says oh you want us to come by? Now I totally lost it. I started screaming like a maniac, meanwhile my other nieghbors on the phone screaming demanding a cop there.
15 mins later one shows up. Gets out, asks what the problem was. Now I lose it again. I say my house was broken into, my wife physicaly assaulted. nad nobody came by. So he tells me not to have an attitude. That got me going even more.
Anyway they do their "investigation", I take her to the hospital get her checked, she was banged up pretty bad. Meantime I'm taking to a bud with some connections, hes trying to find out whats going on with the guy. He calls me back to tell me the judge "released on his own recognisence". I went fuchin ballistic! I went back to the police station to find out why. The same cop came out and told me to get rid of my attitude. I told him I had every right to have an attitude. I was the victim not the criminal. He gave his schpiel. and I just walked out fuming.
My wife is a basket case. She is terrified. Two minutes later, I would have been gone and she would have been alone. Shes 5' 0 about 101 lbs. hes about 5 10, 200. He would have killed her.

What would you do??

Wait. This was one of your neighbors? Are you going to contact the prosecutor? Perhaps try and file your police report, if you haven't already, when that cops not working (8 hours after you saw him there).

Get your wife a gun. Figure out a way to get even with the crazy neighbor. While probably not very smart, I would have a hard time not trying to get the cop in trouble somehow.

Already did, but the judge still released him.

Chris, my main concern was gettin him off and away from my wife. When I finally got him outside, I was on my way back in for a gun. But then he took off out of the yard and down the street.

This ********* had an incident about a month ago , where he through himself through his window, because he tripped out. He was arrested and released back then.The guy is a mid 40's pothead. Apparently he had smoked some **** that was laced with something. and keeps having these flashback/attacks.

Hope the wife is OK. I'd file charges and threaten a suit against the city for failure to respond in a timely manner. This is what we pay taxes for and I think you have every right to have an attitude.

Guy most likely never should have been released, he should be in a psych ward. Could have done real damage to your wife and others.

I hope your wife is OK, too. And you. This nut job needs to be in jail/psych ward and the PD needs to be sued.

The one cop commended me for just "restraining" him. He basically hinted that I should have done more. The other one was just a arrongant cocky dick that acted like we were the criminals. The problem with filing a complaint is , this is a small town. Judge and cops are buddies, etc etc. Im fairly known in town, my vehicles stick out like a sore thumb. So there would be some payback if you know what I mean.
The guy shouldnt have been released after the first incident. They gave him a "no contact order" BFD! What does that mean to someone not in the right state of mind.
I told the cops I intend to do what I have to do to protect my family, no matter how severe. The problem is she is home alone alot. This all happend in less then 2 mins time. He was in the door and on her and had her down before i even hit the second step running up. She didnt have time to blink, let alone grab for something.

For two, sue the individual. And make sure your wife has a snow balls chance of defending herself (Glock 26, etc). Incidents like this may cause some to realize their vulnerabilities and requirements for training.

100+ Make your house much more difficult to get inside. Did he break down the door? Sue him for all damages. He probably has no money but at least you can get a judgement.

Damages are the least of my worries. My concern him hurting or killing someone.

I did file the charges but that was after the fact.

File every charge you can possibly think of. Do you have a friend who is an attorney who could/would help file the charges?

File against neighbors insurance (home/renters) for every single bit of damage including doctors bills. Get wife into a therapist. Post traumatic stress is not fun!!!!!!!

Get better locks on doors, are doors solid core and into solid walls? What is fastening the door frames into the wall frames?

Always keep exterior doors and windows locked. See if restraining order can be given that forces him to move from next door to you!!! They are hardly worth the paper they are written on but if you can have him forced out of his stand next door to you...

My blood pressure is WAY up just reading this. Restraint on your part probably saved you from criminal action from your local officials. I doubt I could have been as restrained, I know my Wife would have shot him at one point or the other when he was in the house.

Call your state representatives, your federal congressmen and senators. Call all of them and let them know this is a hot button issue that you will take to the press. They'll be all over it like flies on dung to make sure they get the photo op on the right side.

You need powerful people on your side and you have those people at your disposal. They were elected to represent you and they will. BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK!

well heres how it iz: im well known in my town. i stick out like a sore thumb. i dont POO in my oatmeal. i "know" people in high places. BIG FREEKING DEAL when the POO goes down.


i had one cop state to me "you better NOT USE THAT GUN!" well let me tell you when these maniacs decided to play chicken with me TWICE on the main road by veering into my lane, and THEN trying to centerpunch me with their hummer coming out of their driveway while i was on a public street.................THE FREEKING GLOVES WERE OFF BIG TIME!


as evidenced a rem 870 in my back shop LOADED! a spoon in my POCKET AT ALL TIMES! i aint feeking around.

well heres my advice and take it for what the hell its worth. GET AN R.O. NOW!


this leaves a paper trail if the poo gets any worse. FILE CHARGES this leaves a paper trail also for your jury trial if it goes that far and you have to use deadly force to protect your self or family.


make sure you have a spoon. not some RACE SPOON, but a standard model any caliber and USE THE EXACT SAME BULLETS THE COPS USE!


if the poo goes down............and the worst happens.................and you use deadly force........................the ONLY THING YOU SAY TO THE COPS ARE THE FOLLOWING AND NOTHING ELSE!


1) I WAS IN FEAR OF MY LIFE PERIOD!


2) I WANT TO TALK TO MY LAWYER!

now as a sidebar to yer poo my poo has now been escalated to where this clown non attorney now has to come into big time compliance with county zoning. he has to hire civil eng, submit site plan get permits and quite possibly tear down his walls due to shoody work and no permits issued when built.


he also has to address drainage issues and generally he stepped into poo up to his eyeballs. he submitted a handdrawn site plan and they RED TAGGED HIM!


so in ending the law does work its just damn slow.
