My cat died today.... at the vet.

Took her in this morning for some problems. Mainly suspected diabetes or thyroid. While they were drawing blood, her heart stopped. There was some more trauma, but suffice to say that lungs full of blood meant it was over.

Then they charged me for euthanizing the cat. You got to wonder sometimes.

Just a sweet cat that kept us empty nesters company. I hope we gave her as good a life as she gave us. Only 8 years old. Here she is getting the daily face wash as Himalayans get crap around their eyes easily.

I'm sitting in that very chair as I type. She sat in front of my monitor often.

Lots of Pelican pets went down this year. Feel free to mention anything you want about your pet. And don't forget to take pics often. They aren't here forever.

I'm sorry. Cats are wonderful.

After awhile, you can give a wonderful life to another cat, and he/she will repay you in spades.

Sorry about Kitty, Milt. Looks like she was well-cared for and led a happy life.

We have no pets in the house now. Even with two little kids running around, it's still a little too quiet.

Then they charged you?! Let me have their address and I'll firebomb the office as a gift of holiday cheer . . . or tp a bush down the street from their office.

Sorry to hear it. 8's pretty young for any small animal.

The good news is there are hundreds of cats at shelters that would love a home.

Milt, Jeez., I'm so sorry for your loss. She was so young too. I have an eleven year old cat at home and three dogs. It's always heart wrenching when they go...

I'm so sorry to hear this. It's never easy. Your story hits close to home (I lost Bonnie and Charlie before that out in L.B.). Thankfully both died at home with us, but it's still never easy. Bonnie in particular was no stranger to the LB Animal Hospital - she battled with CRF for a long time and eventually succumbed to it last April. I miss them all terribly when I think about them still. They were a big part of my life. Family. No less.

Very sorry for your loss.

Cats are so cool. But to lose yours so young is heartbreaking. They really are little people. Sorry for your loss Milt.

Workin' on that. I didn't feel like arguing the bill at that moment. And, nothing I do will change a thing.

I was just doing the face wash 6 hours ago. Now, I'm picking up the food, water, toys, cat box and throwing it all in the trash. Things change quickly.

If you could have seen her in my lap at the vet with her face buried under my arm... I'll never forget what I know now that she was thinking.

No need to blame the vet. The vet owns a Himalayan herself as well as the nurse. They were all pretty broken up. My cat did not look too sick, but she was.

I'm sure it is for the best.
