Thumbs up R/C helicopters

Remote Control Helicopters, Silver Bullet RC Helicopters, Indoor Helicopters at Brookstone

This thing is great fun for $29.95, it has replacement blades, but I'd definitely get the $3.99 unconditional 1 year warranty. I made the mistake of letting some friends try it on Xmas and its tough, but can only take so many hard crashes. Putting the replacement stabilizer and blades on is a little tough if you need glasses and are used to working with larger items, like a Porsche.

They are fun, i got 2 for 50 during xmas shopping at brookstone. Got the warranty, the first one has suffered some crash damage already so at 4 bucks to cover the replacement. A bargain.

The problem I had was trying to run a new set screw into the top stabilizer and actually get it to lock on the detent, I spent more time effing with that than you can imagine. It only comes with one spare stabilizer bar, but four sets of upper and lower blades. When it crashed, it threw one of the tiny metal counterweights and I'm still looking for it.

Mgfr. warranty does not include crash damage, the $4 extended warranty does.

I had a thread on this a few months ago, based on that advice I bought a Syma S107 from EBay, I maybe paid $45 with shipping. Tough little thing, and a blast to fly.

I bought one of the S107s back when we were discussing them. Mine is acting funny now.

I bought an Air Hogs helix 360 last week. Its the best I have played with yet. Lots of power, and very tough.

My mother-in-law got me one. Love it.

Requires frequent charging. Dogs hate it.

I bought one for my 5 year old this x mas. He loves it, and is getting pretty good at flying it. It has seen some brutal crashes already in the last 4 days, and I don't expect it to last too long. It is hard to believe that you can buy something this cool for under $50.00. I knew he would love this, and I am having a blast with it my self.

I needed a new balance bar for my Syma, a spare parts kit was about $20. So I just bought a new one, now I have a parts helicopter. Mine has a 6 year old pilot, so it's seen some crashes.

We got a set of two "Laser Tag" helos for $25 shipped from Woot. My 10 year old daughter declared it her favorite Christmas gift. I've been impressed with how well they've held up 5 days worth of constant pay. Pretty cool - when you get hit from a distance it just spins for a few seconds. Get hit from close range and it drops to the ground. It's a blast!

You never know how things are going to hold up; the copter I got through the gift exchange has survived several 20' + falls onto hardwood and down several flights of stairs. It's also given my miniature Dachshund a new archenemy.

I have the S107 as well, its a cool little heli. I got a Blade CX2 for xmas in 2009, so I have some flying experience. If you get the Blade, get extra blades for it, as they are made out of graphite, or some super brittle material.

I have the blade MCX 2 I really like it. It gives me the freedom to operate indoors and attack the unsuspecting kitties.

Has anybody found a USB / Wall outlet adapter that you can plug in multiple USB's at once ? Sure would be nice to be able to charge a couple of copters simultaneously.

I recall seeing something similar for charging an iPhone (USB charger), you might look in the cell phone department.

Sidney - good call on the 'Shack ... always seem to forget about them still being around.

Matt - we currently are using the single units from both the Ipad and the Iphone and they work fine but I was hoping to get one unit with multiple ports so that way we don't run the risk of losing the single units for the Ipad and Iphone

Thanks !
