Just missed out on a job oppt.

Interviewed for a legal videography gig late last month. Nailed the interview, impressed the owner & the vp, as well as the guy doing the hiring.

Got passed over for a guy with a bit more experience in legal...I have none, but I was told I was a close second...(like knowing that fact is going to pay the bills! ).

Back to square one...

2011 is off to wonderful start!

Or at least indecent videography...

Seriously though, have you tried any non-profits? Almost all of them produce in-house videos. May not be glamorous or well-paying, but it's probably better than nothing.

LOL at all the illegal/indecent vid comments. I actually had an opportunity to edit porn a couple of years back...I didn't pursue it as I didn't want to tarnish my resume.

Red beard,

I've done reality tv once, did some PA work for Kirstie Alley's Big Life. I have nothing against those. Although I hear gigs for the wedding reality tv are NOT fun at all.

The big thing is that I'm trying get a staff job and not freelance anymore.

I'm actually branching out and trying this legal thing and seeing where that goes...I'll have to look into non-profits and see what turns up...I'm also trying to get into ESPN again & waiting to see how that goes.

You don't have to put everything on your resume...

I recently had a similar experience where I thought I had the job in the bag but got passed over for the only other guy I was competing with who had an in inside edge because he worked there several years ago and left.

Why did they even bother stringing me along if they knew they'd hire the former dude?

Would you really like to watch/edit porn all day for a job? I'm not so sure I'd enjoy it after a while...

Plus they never said what kind I'd be editing, so keep that in mind.

I'm not so sure the guy has taken their offer...I'm not getting my hopes up, but you never know.

Then again, I kinda feel like offering my services to their competitors & seeing what happens...

Good luck. Maybe it will work out.

The guy that my employer hired over me didn't pass the drug test.

Keep in touch with them in case their choice doesn't work out or they need additional staff in the future. My brother recently did this and it worked for him!
