Auto Insurance you are Happy With

Looking for a recommendation or two on auto insurance that you are actually happy with. I have been technically on my Mom's Liberty Mutual policy (no issues), but now it is time for me to pick my company policy.

What I am looking for are stories that you had an accident or claim, you called them, they promptly and professionally fixed the issue, your rates did not go up, they didn't drop your coverage or pull funny business. It doesn't have to be the cheapest but reasonable cost insurance.

This is for me, a 23-year-old male, clean records, on a '97 Toyota Camry, 100/300 liability, 100/300 uninsured motorist limits, no collision insurance

Thanks for any help and Happy New Year

State Farm.

We've had no issues at all with claims or fast response from my agent. We have our home, life and autos insured with them.

I've heard good things about State Farm, as well (no FHE). Currently we've got the Auto Club. One claim only (hit 'n run), but it was dealt with very promptly and professionally.

I have state farm but a guy ran into the back of my honda and he had geico. They did everything possible to make it right. No hassle about getting it looked at or where it was going to be fixed. However, I am staying with state farm mostly because of my agent. I got a good one. When he retires I don't know if I will stay with them. hth

-1 State Farm...been w/ them about 35 yrs. In April buy an F-430... asked how much I drive...dunno 1k miles/yr. in the 993. They write me for 3.5k miles/year. 6 weeks later getting letter asking ages and D/L #'s of everyone driving it. Expressly, who under 25 driving it (18 y.o son and 16 y.o. daughter insured same). Send it back, they aren't driving it. 2 months later, they want the mileage. Toss it...next month, next month same thing...toss,toss. Get a letter saying they are going to up my rates. I'll lay into them when the bill comes I'm under the mileage BTW.

Allstate works for me, but I have my home and auto with them. The only one that would give me decent fire insurance where I live in brush country.

I think the F-430 might be a special insurance case...certainly a bigger deal in SF's underwriters' eyes than anything i drive

We insure 4 cars, house, earthquake w/ them. They're writing on 1M+...No claims since the 80's...no accidents since the 70's when I was 20. No tix other than seat belt (the only one I ever get).

State farm. We have had them for about 10 years now. The service has been prompt and professional when ever I called with any issues. I would highly recommend them.

21st Century is working for me.
Twice I needed their help and they were right on top of things and took care of business.

I have been with State Farm since 1975. Never a problem. Rates went up slightly when I had 3 fender benders in 2 years but I am off probation with them and all is well.

Debated classic insurance for the 911 but they were too restirctive for a car I like to drive regularly. They gave me a limited milage policy for the 911 with no special restirctions. When I got the policy, I needed to have more cars than drivers in the house. In my case, it was two drivers and three cars. When my 16 yr old got here licence, they let me keep my low rate policy on the 911 even though we now have 3 drivers and only 3 cars in the house. All they asked me for was a letter clearly stating that the 16 yr old would never drive the 911. Since she never will, this was no hardship.

All of my Agents over the years have been great. whenever we have made a claim, be it home or car, there was never a hassle and they they exceeded my expectations.

USAA, but after 30 years with them I might switch. Last year they no longer allow you to add a motorcycle to your insurance policy. Apparently too many losses since they expanded their membership. I need to check and see if their rates are still competitive.

Just don't get some cheap crap! My car got hit by someone that had some super cheap insurance, it damn near took lawyers to get the money out of them. It was a pretty clear case, my car was PARKED in a legal spot, and he backed into it.... Fcking cheapskates!

I had State Farm and it was not a good experience. Went back to Citizens, been happy there for years.

It is all about the agent. Chit like happened to Sidney- BTDT, called my Cotton States guy who said "lawyers in Atlanta need something to do", and paid it out to me.

He also got me $10K for my E21 euro spec BMW 323 after I got wailed by an 18 wheeler back in '89.

I asked about collector cars or actual value ins for the 914. Cotton States doesn't have anything like that. He hooked me up to an Appraiser, keeps a copy at his office, and I am confident he would get appraised value if needed.

BUT.
He is older than me even. The corporate control is evr greater over the agents. Dunno what I will do in a few years after he retires.

Farmers has been good for me. But it might be the agent, as some have said above.
