Stephanie, I don't live too far from you, so if you get it, let me know if y'all plan to put it in any of the local car shows this spring... I'd love to see it up close.
I'm guessing it would cause quite a stir if y'all drove it to one of the Saturday night Fat Boys cruise-ins. When you said it was manufactured in Australia, I remembered they drive "on the wrong side of the road" over there. I played with the contrast on that photo a bit and it looks like it's RHD... just wanted to make sure you didn't buy it and have it shipped without knowing that. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1295599927.jpg |
I know it is right hand. The shifter is also right hand. I know, a little different. I joked that I may be pulled over when some cop sees my 10yr old in the drivers side.

That's a kick-ass induction system!! I thought those were cast for or by Saleen but can't be sure. Also, something about that T-ax makes it look other than ZF...maybe the black finish?
The more I look at it, the less ZF it looks. |

Mom I missed the bus... oh those Minivan mom's will just have crawl somewhere.. congrats.. you and Angie are frontline.. and probably look good in Combat boots.. Rika |
Awesome car. :)
More pictures please. KT |
That engine is pretty serious! My 331 made 364 rear wheel hp. Figure 15% loss for the driveline so 418 at the flywheel with a far less sophisticated intake/carb set up.
What's the dyno sheet say? I would love to drive a GT40! And yes over a cobra. |
Good to know about the bill of sale to accompany the C/O. I'll have to further pursue that because I have the C/O fully executed and a bill of sale. However I have to laugh at the bill of sale requirement. It's so easy to issue bogus bill of sale. Some sellers will provide you a duplicate bill that says whatever $ amount you want it to say, for tax purposes.
Whatever the C/O requirements may be, i'd say you shouldn't have to deal with the BS. You're buying the seller's car, he should make it a fairly simple process for you to own it. Titling the car is not putting him out in terms of effort or cost. Thanks for sharing the pictures. VERY impressive looking assembly to replicate the original. I have a semi.................. Not trying to be a jerk, but it looks like you've got a slight leak on the RH header collector. And the plastic ties on the suspension/chassis member near the exhaust should be replaced with stainless steel. Nitpicky I know, but those suckers will melt in no time, even with the ceramic coated headers! |

I was going to ask about the seating/shifter arrangement, I can't stand the replicas that change the original setup. |
There is a dealership nearby us that has sold more GT40s than anybody....check out their inventory, especially the "SOLD" inventory.

Again a beautiful car Steph. Curious though... how can the mfg put a "Ford GT40" on the rocker?
|
Very nice... personally I like the Daytona Coupe repros as they won't ever be mistaken as a fake Ford GT (Circa 2008)
|
ok, I am in.
Is it really running the Gurney Weslake heads? That kicks the cool factor up by about 10 clicks! Individual coils for each plug, +3 cool clicks! What ecu are u using? Is it fuel injected? looks like an oxygen sensor so I betting it is. What is the shadowy car in the background that also looks like fun in the making? |
Dart heads.
