I've compared those $10 chinese calipers to my $110 set of Mitutoyos... Many times they read well within a normal person's repeatability when using digital calipers. The worst ones I've had are no more few thousandths of an inch off.

He is measuring the clutch life. I think the cheap calipers are OK for that.

"Whilst off from the shop, I got a call on the tele and proceeded to put a tyre off the road. What I though was a brilliant exercise in car control ended up causing the car to lose control and total the car crashing into a petro station. Off to buy another, Cheers."
