thats a beaut by cracky. gonna go home tonight, crack a cold one, sit there a few minutes gazing at mine sleeping sound unmolested, think about this one....................and then start blowing beer out my nose with laughter!

As mentioned above, "cool" with the VW crowd can mean a lot of things. It sure looks like a cheap way to have some fun. I can't imaging this fetching more than $5k.

G
2+ to that.

I think turning a 62 Impala rag into a gold plated low rider is crazy, but I can respect the finished product even if I don't like it.

The issue I have with it is the "loosely mounted" 6x9's hitting you in the scull after you hit the guardrail because it handled like a Peel P50.

I saw an old truck done up like that at a car show a few weeks ago.

Sorry, but sanding down old paint, putting file marks, etc. in it, then carefully clear coating the whole mess to "preserve" the fake "patina" is phony and lame.

Q: hey - that is one stylin' ride! does it have a MotorMeister engine?
A: No, it has a TYPE 1 ENGINE. We are building a boat here at the shop, and may contact MotorMeister for one of their engines to use as an anchor.

well, sure.

but we need to quantify the stoopidity -- or at least come with a rank ordering for it

for example, is it the stoopidist thing EVER done to a 911?

or does it win a yearly award? a regional award?

Wellllllll, it had a decent paint job but they intentionally sanded it and distressed it to make it look like crap, then painted clear over the crap, and then distressed the clear coat to make it look like crap too.
That rings pretty high on the stoopid scale AFAIC, but the dune buggy pedal assembly sure is nice
I caint help but wonder how heavy those steel door panels are, and if that makes the car bullet-proof

I can't help it, I'm in the "form follows fuction" camp and that car flies in the face of that.
It is so low you can barely drive it, the suspension is so screwed up it can't handle worth a crap, basically they took everythnig that makes a 911 good and destroyed it until there was nothing good left, just crap.

Contrived, ugly and slow are not generally a good combo.
