Is Halle Berry racist?

Halle Berry recently stated her daughter is "black" citing the one drop theory.

Halle Berry is 50/50 white/black her daughters father is all white. Therefore her daughter is 75% white and 25% black.

How could Halle not be deemed racist from that statement?

If the one drop theory applies could an argument be made that one drop of white/European blood would disqualify anyone claiming to be a minority?

If the child is mixed, shouldn't it technically be the child's decision as to whether they eventually consider themselves black or not?

I don't see why the parent has to be adamant as to actually define the child's race.

It has been proven over and over again, HB is the most beautiful woman evar in the entire history of femaleness. I have to concede, she sucked in Monster's Ball, too I think it was.

She's hot as balls and I couldn't care less about her race or how she designated her kids' race. Just show nude pics of Halle and we'll all get along. If I were king of the world, I'd ban any mention of race on all official documents, job apps, college apps, loan apps, birth certs., etc. That would do more to alleviate racism than anything ever tried.....but then alleviating racism was never the true goal of the do-gooders.

I would say that she is apparently a racist, but she is not hot unless you are into girls who are built like teenage boys (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Tiger coined a word that incorporated parts of black, caucasian, asian, and whatever else he is. I've read that he doesn't consider himself "black" any more than he considers himself white, Asian, etc., and that he considers himself so multiracial that he isn't really a member of any race, and therefore is part of all of them. Kind of a Zen thing, I guess.

It irks me to no end when people talk about being half white/black/Asian, whatever. I tell my kids that our house isn't half their mother's and half mine, it's 100% their mothers and 100% mine at the same time. (In property law I believe that's called an undivided half interest.) So they shouldn't think of themselves as half American and half Chinese, they are both American and Chinese at the same time.

It's patronizing to divide people into half-race castes. Just to mess with big brother, I usually claim to be Chinese whenever I have to claim an ethnicity or race.

My best friend for the past 37 years happens to have very dark skin when compared to mine (he's black), both his parents also have that particular trait.
He enjoys correcting people whenever they refer to him as being African-American. He says he's never been to africa so they should just call him an American.

This would be a good time for someone to post that Teddy Rooooooosevelt quote .......
