Looking Good - the old-style goalie pads & all. Man I sure do miss playing (at) the game - assorted injuries & Father Time catch up to us all eventually. Good on ya flatbutt.
Cheers JB

What a cute fairy tale. This one may not have a happy ending for all the little canuck kids. Bears are very strong and determined creatures. If you get too close, a bear can wipe you out with one swipe of its slap shot. Canucks are lumberjacks, right?

what a first period that was, jeez. This series clearly has shown home ice to be an advantage. ...so far.

Henrik did score a point tonight and Schneider plays a good game (do you think he'll start game 7?). Marchand got away with one when he gave Henrik four short jabs while holding onto his jersey. I was surprised he only got a warning. You gotta admit, Brad has the goods: 5'9" but he'll mix it up with the best of them, great hands, and best of all, he is a thinking player.

In other news: Henrik scored his first point. Schneider played a good game (do you think he'll start game 7?). Marchand got away with one when he grabbed Henrik's jersey and gave him 4 rabbit punches. He should have been called for that. You gotta admit though, Brad has got the goods: speed, great hands, tough player who will go to the boards with anyone. Best of all, he is a thinking player. He has his head on a swivel and he sees the plays before they happen.

Home ice has held so far but how do you win THE CUP with a keeper that has to be pulled this often? There is IMO a slant to the ice now in favor of the Bs. Luongo does play well at home but those games have been squeakers. Smart money is on Boston, long shot odds for Vancouver. There's a stake in Draculas chest needing one more push to pierce his heart.
Oh and LaPierre is still a little beotch.

He will have to grow about two inches to be 5'9". He's short. I would like him more if just shut his mouth, quit the histrionics, and played the game. He's a hot-dog right now, needs to grow up.

![]() He'll mature. Hopefully, winning the cup in his rookie year won't stunt that maturing process.

Interesting article from CSN: Haggerty: It's been a tale of two goalies
...The Vancouver Canucks have taken the opposite tack: They've been anything but kind to Thomas. Particularly his opposite number, Roberto Luongo, who boasted that the only goal Thomas allowed in a 1-0 Vancouver victory in Game 5 would have been "an easy save for me," and then subsequently complained that Thomas hadn't said "one nice thing" about him even though he'd been "pumping [Thomas'] tires" the whole series. "I guess I didn't realize it was my job to pump his tires," a bemused Thomas said Sunday. "I guess I have to apologize for that." ...Thomas was also a tone-setter during the pregame warm-up when he hopped on the ice and eschewed the normal customary shooting of a puck into his own net. Instead Thomas wheeled onto the ice, grabbed a puck and fired it to the Vancouver end of the ice in a show of disrespect and dissatisfaction at the foolish, insecure and immature words Luongo served up in the days leading to Game 6. It was a sign Thomas was fired up by Luongo’s dopey verbal stunts. He started his postgame comments by flatly stating “I’m not going to go there” when asked to assess the Brad Marchand goal Luongo missed right out of the first-period gate. That little answer to a leading question continued a two-month long string of classy behavior for a puck-stopper at the absolute height of his powers. ...Luongo, on the other hand, has looked like two different goaltenders in the finals. In Boston he's been a pathetic case of jangled nerves and faulty glove hands, coughing up 15 goals during the three losses. In Vancouver, he's been confident and serene, making normal saves behind a talented Canucks bunch and staring down Thomas in three one-goal victories, two of them by 1-0. But no matter whether his heart is ticking mightily (in Vancouver) or failing him embarrassingly (in Boston), Luongo’s personality has been that of a loser. His emotional frailties have been on display under the harsh spotlight of the NHL national media, and he’s alternated somewhere between selfishness, crippling insecurity and foolish, impulsive arrogance. They are the “quirks” that should prevent him being a winning player. Luongo has been slightly above average at home in the Cup Finals, and that's being generous. On the other hand, his poor play put his team in holes it couldn't escape in Boston -- the Canucks actually started Game 6 very well, only to look up at the 8 1/2-minute mark and find themselves trailing by three goals -- which is why it was strange he was searching for people to “pump his tires” and acknowledge his greatness. The truth is, there is nothing "great" about the Vancouver goaltender and that's why Vancouver shouldn't win.

Tony: I can always count on you to find some small thing to accuse the Bruins. There are little cheap shots in every game all game long. Do you have any idea how many happen when they are piled up in front of the net or when there is a scrum in the corner? I see it all the time and no call is made. That didn't look like he was trying to hurt him...just a warning tap. At least sister Henrik didn't go diving for the ice crying... good for him. What game was that anyway? Nothing was said on the TV. If that was last night and it was the only thing you can comment on then you missed a really good game once Lou-ong-go left the ice.
I guess TT does a good Clint Eastwood impression: Get off my ice! ![]() p.s. I thought I'd at least get some objectivity points for saying that Marchand deserved a penalty and I complimented Schneider.

To answer your question, Henrik was thrown out for mouthing off to the ref but why all the fuss anyway? Its not as though a top scorer got thrown out. All these infractions you blow up are petty. This is the NHL remember?
