Long Beach ALMS ticket deals?

The past few years my Dad and I have bought our tickets well in advance of the race. Last year we were frustrated to find that there was a PCA discount (I think $20 or something) for those who bought tickets just a week or two before the race.

This year, we politely declined to purchase early when the LBGP guys called us- might have even been before New Years Day-, hoping for a discount if we waited.

So, like the hotels.com commerical says, we are waiting.

Does anyone know if there will be last-minute discounts for ALMS Saturday only Reserved Seats tickets?

Just go to the race office (on 2nd street IIRC) and get them there. That's what I always did.

And some dude with a stack of tickets rubberbanded together will intercept you 2 blocks from the ticket office and offer you whatever you want for less than said ticket office charges.

To be fair, you only really need to pay for tickets for Day #3. There are always people giving them away for Day #1 and occasionally Day #2 just to fill the place up.

All I am going for is Saturday. That is what I am hoping for- free day 2 tickets. I do not want to order them and then find I could have had them at a big discount.

I never go to the race office in person- way too far. I just order by phone like I have for the past few years. I am on the mailing list.

I've been thinking of going just on Saturday, too, for ALMS. But I have a hard time paying $120 for 2 tix for just the little boy and me to go, as the little one will last about 3 or 4 hours and then be ready to go home.
