Our new nanny is a lazy, dumba$$ slob.

She came with great references. So sweet and innocent during the interview and all. Said she wants to become a nurse and that she was able to get into a very impacted program in Napa. That's pretty impressive but I think it's a lie. I should have verified the story but her references, whom we called, just raved about her.

The girl can't do math. Not even math, arithmetic. We've caught her in a couple of lies and today, my Mom stopped in while I'm away on a business trip. Mom finds the girl eating popcorn in front of the TV, which she knows we don't even do ourselves. The place is a mess and there was a gallon size Ziploc bag on the rug next to where my 3 y/o little boy who has special needs was playing.

I don't give a rat's a$$ how bad the economy is and that she may have to go on welfare. The girl's history. Wait til I get home tomorrow. Lazy, stupid, MTV watching, 31 y/o adolescent.

Gogar 02-24-2011 07:40 PM

Dude, you walked right into it.

IS SHE HOT?

HardDrive 02-24-2011 07:59 PM

We've had a couple doozies over the years. Including the nice German girl who quit with a voice mail message on Sunday night. We both had to work Monday. Turns out she was between projects at Microsoft, and decided to fill the 6 week gap by telling us a huge lie that she wanted to work for us for a couple years.

dondarnell 02-24-2011 08:22 PM

Whatever - is she hot or what ?

cantdrv55 02-24-2011 08:43 PM

Not hot. The total opposite of hot.

You can afford a Nanny? Good for you. You must be doing well. You should be thankful for that.

Tobra 02-24-2011 09:05 PM

es verdat

be glad you found out promptly, do you have a nanny cam or two running?

cantdrv55 02-24-2011 09:10 PM

Yes, very thankful we can afford a nanny for our little boy.

No nanny cam. I did buy one but never installed it. No need to anymore because I think I'll ask my wife to become a stay at home mom.

MotoSook 02-24-2011 09:14 PM

Just the thing that made me hire my mom after she loss her job to outsourcing. I'd paid some stranger anyhow...now I know my kids are well cared for and my money is going to my parents.

cgarr 02-25-2011 03:14 AM

So you can get a nanny at Napa now?

UconnTim97 02-25-2011 03:41 AM

Was it the 3oz or 3.5oz bag of popcorn that she was eating? :)

widgeon13 02-25-2011 03:51 AM

Show her the door!

Shaun @ Tru6 02-25-2011 04:00 AM

I think half of PARF is unemployed. Why not give a Pelican the job?

dennis in se pa 02-25-2011 04:09 AM

I think you should speak to your therapist about this.

Porsche-O-Phile 02-25-2011 04:15 AM

What do you expect for a lousy $30k a year plus free room & board?

Tim Hancock 02-25-2011 04:39 AM

Why does a nanny need to be good at math and why is eating popcorn bad?..... What am I missing here other than the fact that she is butt ugly?

Sounds like she may be less than truthful and does not respect the rules of the house. Not good signs for someone entrusted with the care of the most important thing in your life.

My SIL had one who was bi-polar. For about a year all was good till she went off the meds and things got real bad real quick. Nanny finally came clean about her condition.

SIL gave her another shot till nanny told SIL that she was pregnant and the babies father was God.

She's not hot, what more do you need to know? :)

dennis in se pa 02-25-2011 06:34 AM

I don't think I would want a young hot nanny in my house. It's just not a good idea. :)

We did the Au Pair deal for 15 years...excellent quality spread. Unfortunately, even the rather unfortunate looking young ladies had some amazingly beautiful friends.

You learn not to look.

For the OP: One lie is enough.

Personally, I'm thankful that I don't need to have a nanny look after my most important things in life.....

livi 02-25-2011 08:33 AM

What you need is Ms Inga from Sweden! :)

widgeon13 02-25-2011 08:45 AM

Blond hair, blue eye, 36-24-36 and legal!

Very true. I shouldn't have given her a second chance to lie to us again.

tcar 02-25-2011 10:49 AM

Au pair...

Elin Nordegren and she's a TWIN!.

s_morrison57 02-25-2011 12:11 PM

Get rid of her, tomorrow, if the wife doesn't stay home then ckeck all references closely with her replacement.

Look at the bright side, at least she didn't say it was your brother.

We had an Austrian Au Pair, Brita, extremely sharp. I only remember their minds, of course.

Her best friend was a Swedish Au Pair. Her name escapes me because every time I tried to address her I bit my tongue.

Address her? Where were you going to mail her?

Ba-boom-ding!

No wait... better yet... where were you going to put the stamp? :D

Loser:)

At least I wasn't trying to lick the stamp:cool:

Honestly, the best ones, as Cantdrv55 will attest, become part of the herd.

Jeff Higgins 02-25-2011 07:58 PM

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone who hires out the raising of their own children. I would heartily encourage you to encourage your wife to become a real mom - a stay at home mom. If her career somehow became, or always was more important than her kids, you never should have had any. This is no place to do a half assed job, nor is it any place to hire someone to do it for you. Parenting is the single most important job that anyone is ever blessed with. And you only have one run through it to get it right.

look 171 02-25-2011 09:40 PM

My wife is a stay home mom. Its been almost 8 years since she worked. Here's the deal, she doesn't look forward going back to work anymore, but at some point, I really like her to return to the work force. This way, she keeps her mind sharp and stay from all the non working moms. That and itself its sometimes bad *****. Since she's been gone so long, its hard to keep up with the industry. I think she is somewhat afraid to go back and made some noise about starting all over from the beginning. She just doesn't know what type of work yet. Not a good feeling. My plan for her is have a part time job when our little one is in middle school. This way someone is home when they get back from school. They are only 3 and 5 now, so we have a long way to go.
