No AC here so no summer setting. In winter, heater is off unless it gets down to below 65. When we go to sleep I turn it down to like 55. I hate having the heater on when I'm asleep.

I heat with wood mostly so temps vary. Last night it was a whisker below 0.....house was around 75* this morn.
When using oil i set it at 68 during the day (if we're home) otherwise 65 at night. |
75 and 90 for me... I hate cold with a passion... most times it is about 78 in my house during winter and 85 in summer.
:D |
65 in the winter with occasional bumps as necessary. I don't use the AC in the summer except for an average of a week when the temps go above 100, then I just set the thing for 90 to take the edge off.

Where I am, when it's too hot, we open the windows.
When it's too cold, we close them. Also have a "whole house" fan system to help when needed. Very, very rarely do we use the forced heating or AC. |

Our home is 2 stories and we keep the thermostat at 67 year 'round. No a/c for the hot months but we have movable a/c units.
The house is comfortable and no one complains it is too cold. ( If they do, I don't hear them and in that case it doesn't matter anyway.:D) |
Programmable.
68-70 at night, then 72 when I wake up in the winter, if you can call it that here in Arizona. 78 or so during the days in summer then 80 at night. |
Freezing cold in winter, boiling hot in summer like it's supposed to be. Problem is summer usually comes on a weekday.

No AC and no insulation in This Old House (built in 1930). So, it stays about the same as Kim's in the summer and I hate 80* at night (I do have a window AC unit and I take the bedroom down to below 70 at night), but not any other rooms). |
We have a backsplit that is not prone to even heat which complicates things. Programmable of course. Winter: 65 except for bumps to 73 @ 6 - 8 & 6 pm - 11 pm. I use a space heater in my office during the day as needed. Summer: we only use AC for 1 month on average set at 74. Windows work well here in the spring, much of summer & autumn.
