Hand Spoon, what knocks as hard in an auto as a .357?

Been there done that.....got enuff .357 wheel guns to knock my dick down. Looking for the same thing in an auto w/o the exotic 928 Porsche surcharge.

Been watching too many movies. Wanna have a back up when I run outa accurate loads, speed loaders and need something that kills everyone.....16+ rounds a plus.

.357sig was designed to mimic light load .357 magnum

Why not .45 ACP, it is a large bullet, what I've read is that at handgun velocities (low) you don't count on "expansion", you don't count on "shock", you rely on making the biggest hole you can.

10mm and .40 look pretty good here. I usually carry .40. 10mm is considered exotic by ignorant jurors.

Figure out a way to make the .460 Rowland conversion work in an Officer size 1911?

LOL .460 Rowland in a 3" barrel? Can you say "shaking hands with the Devil"?

357 Sig

I like the 357 Sig in a FNP pistol. 14 rds of 125 gr at 1400 or better. In a polymer framed handgun, recoil is, well, noticible! Weight is about 27 oz. Similar in performance would be .38 Super in a Colt Commander. Also 27 oz., but only a 9 + 1 configuration.

I didn't say you'd actually want to shoot the darned thing!
And just imagine the poor sap on the other end of the barrel.

It does fit the criteria, tons of knock down power (1000 lbs/ft at the barrel, should still be well above 800 in a SD situation) and with it using stock 1911 mags, the options are nearly limitless for volume. Hmmmmm, do some fine tuning and slap one of those 100rd double drum mags in!

I only carry my P226 with the .357SIG barrel in it when I'm way out in the bush or in cold weather. I know it's tried and true with several federal LE agencies. But I just worry about overpenetration with that caliber. Out in the bush backstop is not much of an issue and in cold weather, everyone is wearing layered clothes. Otherwise it's .40 or .45 for me.

I carry a J frame .38. I pull the trigger. It goes bang. A total of 5 times.

In the woods I carry a Blackhawk .357 with 180gr Corbons in it.

The reason LE carries .357sig here in Texas is for vehicle penetration. "Joe Bob" asked for comparable to .357 Magnum.

That said, I think .45 or .40S&W are the correct carry rounds.

Several years ago, I bought a "law enforcement trade-in" Sig P226 that came with a .357Sig barrel and a .40S&W barrel so you can shoot either one by simply switching out the barrel. The gun has some holster marks on it, but is otherwise perfect and cost me $625 and came with the original case, paperwork and 4 mags. Nice gun, and it handles these larger, more powerful cartridges just fine.

Get a Grizzley 357 auto or a Desert Eagle. No comparison needed.

Of course, S&W has 7 and I think 8 shot 357 revolvers available.

Otherwise, 10mm, 38 super, 9x23
