Interesting girl

I've only read a bit of her stuff, but she seems relatively normal and level headed despite the interesting way of life. Seems cool, actually.

FALIA PHOTOGRAPHY Freedom Journal

She lives out of her VW bus and travels around the country. She lives "off the grid" (except for a huge web presence ). She works for a living despite her lifestyle. She's got her CCW. She's got a college degree and had a house at 22, but sold it. She's now just south of 30 (28 or something) and seems to be doing pretty well. In addition to all of the above, she's hot, well, from the neck down, she doesn't show her face in her vids.

The gun aspects of "faliaphotography" reminded me of this woman.

That last pic in video #2 looks EXACTLY like the UO law library... I know several women who carry pistols, including a law professor. They aren't so stupid as to brag about it on the internet of course.

Educational, but I don't have time to watch more than a few minutes of it.

Sure have. Never saw hippies packing, though. They seemed to be more concerned about their Birkenstocks and patchouli oil...(and weed).

She doesn't really seem like a hippy after reading some of her stuff.

She carries a Ruger LCR, she's also got an AR15 (I think that'll get your hippy card revoked).

Quote:
I used to feel pretty secure, since I was working hard & steady in the same factory for 6 years straight. I bought nice gifts for people every Christmas, and I bought everything I ever needed & wanted at the time. I had my own apartment, saved money, and paid cash for my first car. I even bought a house when I was 22. I was on quite a roll until I got laid off and never got called back.

Today I am writing about money since I've got money on the brain. It's hard not to think about money when you haven't got any, you are frustrated with collecting unemployment, and you are in debt & not comfortable with that.

I had a problem with my unemployment this morning and had to give them a call. I had to wait on hold for over 2 hours in order to talk to a real human. NO LIE. Thankfully I have lots of extra minutes on my phone plan. I wonder if they had such a "high call volume" (as the recording kept relaying to me) because it is Monday. Or maybe because there are SO MANY people unemployed right now. Sigh.

While being in my van this summer, however, I was able to pick up several misc. cash jobs. I did some interior painting for a landlord, sorted cherries at an orchard, and did some brush-cleanup & weed-whacking at a horse farm. I heard about those jobs through a friend, through the newspaper, and on a flyer at the grocery store. There are so many other options, though, for someone needing to make cash money. Dog~walking, cleaning houses, babysitting, and yard~work are a few things that I personally considered.
She works. Do hippies do that?

She owned (well, was paying for) a house at 22. When she got laid off, she took out a $10k personal loan to sell her house because she was upside down on it. Wouldn't a hippy have just left.

She seems more responsible than my mental image of hippies. Maybe my image is skewed because I was born in 70 and am not familiar enough with hippies. She seems more like a self sufficient nomad than a hippy.

Hippies with spoons are scary. Lots of spoon waving combined with very poor trigger discipline.
From what I can tell, she may live in a van but she's no hippy.

So basically you're an Internet stalker obsessed with a chick who you've never seen the face of... Ok.

Attention whores get ignored. Even good looking ones (neck down or full body)

I've got lots of free time at work right now. I saw a link to her blog on a gun forum. I read a little bit. I thought it was interesting that what seemed like a fairly conventional, slightly right biased, attractive twenty something was living like a nomad.

She rants on about how she's inconvenienced because it took two hours on the phone to get her unemployment? Doesn't sound very self-sufficent. Of course a real hippie would have ran out of quarters to put in the phone by then. Then she goes on about tax evasion and working under the table?

Someone getting laid off, giving up, not looking for real work and living off unemployment doesn't seem worthy of admiration for their life-style. At least not my admiration.
Of wait, there's that persnickety old curmudgeon thing again. nevermind.

all the hippies died in about 1968 - therefore, they are unable to work
