please note waffentester's(lab rat) helmet!

this may be the one test that has all you clown m-16/ar-15 owners RUNNING to buy an HK!

the truth hurts and quite possibly some of YOU cant handle the truth! LMFAO!

and if ya still dont believe...................go elk/deer hunting anywhere during a nice cold wet snowy slushy MUDDY hunt with yer rifle on the front or back of a quad with yer buddies in front of you and see what the hell REALLY happens to a weapon when yer a hardcore hunter!

it WILL BE COVERED IN MUD AND SNOW unless of course its in its own lil intel clean room case and then its WORTHLESS as teets on a bull, for when mr monster bucky deer or mr royal elk giganticus pokes their lil heads out looking and laughing at YOU!

You're talking about the "over the beach test." Every time I watch that I wonder, "How junior was this guy to draw the assignment where the receiver for the competitor's weapon blows in half while he sits in a galvanized horse trough full of muddy water wearing a welding helmet?"

Carry on the debate. . .

Mr Lee, don't you mean shotgun?

Something I always tell my diabetics. Always check your feet close.

If you are looking for trouble, you see it coming.

California is crime free. I guess you did not know that.

My car has not gotten broken into lately...

you can palm an Airweight, five .38s, might not be enough, if push came to shove, but she is a cool customer and a fine shot.

Would the fact that Glocks have been featured in so many Hollywood movies have anything to do with their popularity?

One movie in particular comes to mind...The Fugitive (1993)

Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) sports a Glock very prominently throughout the entire movie. He even tells one of his subordinates to get himself one.
(from memory) Or was that the sequel U.S. Marshals???
You can't tell me that hasn't influenced police forces to adopt the weapon or at least include it in their trials.

Considering how many Police forces throughout the world use them, the Glock has been marketed very effectively.
Does that mean it's the best weapon to carry?

I wonder why any discussion of firearms must always deteriorate into an argument? The "alpha male syndrome" is always present, no matter how nice the conversation or thread starts out, it always turns into a "this gun is the best, your gun is crap" type of thing. I must be weird because, although I have very strong preferences, I can accept the fact that others will choose differently and I respect that.....

Your guns all suck and are dangerous.... On top of that, Fords suck, but they are better than Chevy. Honda trumps Mazda, but BMW trumps them all (except for air cooled Porsches). Allis Chalmers trumps John Deere and Piper trumps Cessna. Anyone who disagrees is an ignorant piece of garbage as I am the worlds foremost authority due to my previous professional experience (which of course trumps any experience you claim to have which is irrelevant) :)

PS Glocks RULE!

You're a poopy head.

A folded piece of leather pushing back on any trigger including a double action would most likely result in an ND. I don't buy the story of just twisting the body and the leather pushed itself into the trigger guard either. Most likely this guy was holstering. Everyone should be familiar with and frequently inspect their equipment for any problems too.

I kind of doubt that. A true trigger cocking mechanism has a great deal more travel and is much heavier than the Glock's. I don't think that folded over peice of leather could exert enough pressure over great enough travel to make one go off.

Oh, and I'll second that - cool knife (and gun), Tom.

I'm kind of thinking that he didn't get the thing fully seated into the holster, then when he put his seatbelt on, the seatbelt pushed the gun further into the holster causing the leather to press the trigger far enough to fire.

Apologies for thread hi-jack. In my opinion, the 1911 looks more like a "real" gun, what I grew up with.

It does work in Walnut, but oddly I actually prefer it with the horn. (odd because I usually don't like horn)

mossguy 03-25-2011 09:36 AM

Very nice, Jim! And great photo. Did you take the picture, and if so, how?

masraum 03-25-2011 09:52 AM

While we're deviating from the topic. I just got some pics from a buddy that just got his gun back from Colt to get some engraving work done. I like it. I've always liked engraved guns. I think his is very tasteful, nice, but still says "I mean business".
