2011 - An Interesting Math Year

I'm sure that every year has its own interesting math. Here is 2011.

This year we experienced and are going to experience four unusual dates: 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11; that's not all ... take the last two digits of the year in which you were born; now add the age you will be this year, and the result will be 111 for everyone!

For example - if you were born in 1957, and 57 + 54 = 111

This year October will have 5 Sundays, 5 Mondays and 5 Saturdays.
This happens only every 823 years.

Adding your age to the year you are born always equals the present year, once you pass your birthday...

Any time you see claims like "every 823 years", your BS meter should be blaring. October 1st landed on a Saturday in 2005 as well.

I'm kind of questioning this one. Seems like October can only start on seven different days, and when it starts on Saturday you get what we have this year. Surely it doesn't start on Saturday only once every 823 years?

You forgot all of the fun binary dates for the computer nerds out there.

yea....if u still only use mm/dd/yy format when the actual number is 2011.

as far as i'm concerned, only in 11AD did this actually occur

I just think you should leave Gregory out of this. He really is a rather small and simple dragon after all!

However, you can then add November 2nd to the interesting math year scenario:

11-02-2011. Or 11022011 (same fowards as backwards, as in "A man, a plan, a canal: Panama.")

Also, in Europe, where they use day-month-year format, you have:

20 November, 2011, or 20-11-2011 (20112011 repeating)

2011 - An Interesting Math Year

The month can only start on one of 7 different days. Throw in leap year and there are only 14 possible different calendars EVER. The maximum time possible is the calendar will repeat after 14 years.
