Gift or Gift Card ideas? Bellingham, WA
Dudes and lady or two:
I want to get someone who lives in Bellingham Washington a $50-or-so gift card or gift of some type. It's someone who helped me through email and phone with a difficult technical problem and it took A LONG TIME. Maybe twenty emails, and two phone calls. In one of my capacities I have a tech-type job and I understand the kind of hassle and brain-drain I put on this person, for no compensation. I want him to know I understand that concept and appreciate him sticking with me until I got my problem fixed, long after most people would have stopped responding. Any ideas? I could just get him a generic gift card for a restaurant or something, or if anyone has suggestions specific to Bellingham, WA that would be cool too. TIA ![]()

Jeremy, seems to me that you've had a lot of opportunities to travel and see things as a member of a successful and popular rock band.
Isn't there some swag that you've acquired over the years that would make a nice gift? Just a thought, and maybe I'm out of line in even suggesting it. . .(if so, I'll extend my apologies) ![]()

If you get a generic Visa or M/C card check expiration and fee details, they vary widely.

That's a nice thought, but in my experience, people may not always care for stuff like that, but things like FREE FOOD and the like are a little bit more universal for someone you don't actually know that well. I do have a set of "Chicago White Sox" benwah balls, is that the kind of gift you mean?? ![]()

fwiw, I Loath gift cards.
If you want to be thoughtful, let the guy figure out where (and when) to spend. Cash, it's the universal gift card.

I was in Bellingham three weekends ago. B'ham has the best and biggest hardware store I have ever seen. If they don't have it, you don't need it. It's a mom and pop place I think, totally unique, lots of buildings and everyone in the area knows about it. Can't remember the name, but I sure would love a shopping spree there. Gawd, it was heaven.

This is the PNW, (almost) everyone is a coffee nut. Find their workplace and see if you can get a giftcard for a good nearby coffee shop.
As far as the swag? I actually think an autographed CD from you/BHT would be really cool. Even if the person wasn't into that kind of music, it is still a neat gift. angela

I would agree on a local resturant gift certiificate. Cash or generic gift card is way too impersonal.
Jeremy, those of us who know yoiu know what a PIA you are,, I suggest doubling whatever amount you were thinking

update
So, took the suggestion with the most 'votes' and bought a Boundary Bay Brewing Co. Gift card and mailed it. Yesterday, he sent me an email back. PPOT nailed it, again!
I just got back from a trip and your gift card was on my desk. This is a very kind and thoughtful gesture that certainly was not expected. You really nailed it on the head with this as I live three blocks from there and had been thinking about taking the family out to dinner lately! Anyway, you have always been respectful and never demanding, so that makes it easy to assist you. Thanks so much!
