If I were in the Corvette market right now, I'd hold out for a C7.

I refuse to buy a car from a company that became a willing ward of the state.
Who owns the majority of GM? I guess we all do, since last I heard over 60% of GM stock is owned by Uncle Sam. Ford was the only domestic car maker to say "no thanks". All that said, Vettes are America's only true sports car.....so whatever floats your boat..

I don't give a flying #%*@ who makes it, where they got the money to make it, or anything else to do with the company it came from...
The C6 Z06 is a magnificent machine in every way.

in the past I've I ran more than a few laps at willow springs in a turbocharged 911SC.
I remember one time chasing down a hot-rodded viper with fiberglass fenders and hoosier stickies and open exhaust. He'd pull me slightly on the straights and then i'd catch him in the twisties. Eventually he started driving with his rear view mirror and made a mistake and i went by. Same scenario two other times. Same thing several times with mustangs, but not the current new hot versions. Even chased down a 427 cobra kit car once. But I never could get the best of the Z06 vettes. Every time I was on track with one, the best I could hope for was to stay kinda close. Usually I couldn't. In talking to the drivers I kept hearing the same thing: these cars are easy to drive fast. I gained a great deal of repsect for those cars, they really are very high performace sports cars and are borderline supercars. In fact they are better than most of the things we called supercars prior to 10 years ago. |

Like I said, whatever floats your boat. Since the Z-06 is no longer the hottest 'Vette, they are getting out there at a reasonable price on the used market. When are you going to buy yours? As for me? I'll fight socialism by buying Ford. ![]()
