iPhone 4 can't join my WiFi network

any ideas?

the Apple support just ran out too, not that it was very good

all I find on the internet forums is that the suggested fixes do not solve the problem...

Do you have MAC address filtering or other security enabled on your wireless router? Turn off all security, scan for new wireless devices, add your iPhone, then lock down the Wireless router again (don't forget!). You may have to restart the router when you're done adding the iPhone.

Restart iPhone by holding down home and power buttons. Worth a try.

I finally got it connected after getting an "exception" from Apple support - weird thing is, it then connected using the manf. of my router (linksys) as the name of the network NOT the name I gave to the network...

All this BS is just to get the "Remote" app to work on the iphone....

Will it connect to other wifi routers, eg at the local Starbucks?

Will other devices connect to your router?

continually downloading and re-installing the app; repeatedly deleting the app from the recent apps "area"; continually rebooting the router AND rebooting the iPoon worked

it's not the phone it's the type of router you have

so, the app hanging up in the recent apps "area" & clearing it didn't solve the problem? 'cuz it seemed to sometimes...

also... what type of router should I get?

finally, why did it ever report linksys, when my router is made by Netgear? (maybe it picked up a much weaker signal from further away for some reason?)

Had a problem with my iPad staying connected to my network. Turns out that if the wifi router is running in both 802.11b & 802.11g modes that the iPad would get confused. Switched the router to 802.11g only and have had no more problems.
