Nebo LED flashlight with skull crusher bezel: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/a4f66e47.jpg You can see it just to the left of the pistol in this pic. It doesn't look like much, but the skullcrusher bezel will lay someone out in a heartbeat. I buy one of these for every girl i date (i should buy stock in the company, seriously). |
Sniper makes a good point. My reaction, instinctively, would have been to throw both of those attackers violently through that window.
But let's play this out more like it would really unfold. Let's say I am in that McDonald's with my family (wife and two kids), stopping while road traveling in a different state (no carry reciprocity). I see that unfold and jump up and intervene, getting physical with the two attackers. Probably not a big stretch to imagine those attackers being affiliated with "others" who are likely lurking outside. Now, after I have intervened and stopped the immediate threat, what happens when the "affiliates" outside come in to find out who struck out at their "friends"? I have a 9 year old boy, a 6 year old girl, and a 115 lb. wife. I would be almost completely helpless if charged in retaliation while waiting for police to arrive. I can't even fathom the horror of the potential harm to my family in that scenario. So, what's the solution: 1) Mind your own business and get the heck out of there? 2) Physically intervene to save the victim's life and hope for the best? 3) Attempt to "talk" them out of it similar to what the old lady did? 4) Illegally carry a firearm and break the law by brandishing and intervening? 5) Illegally carry a firearm and use it only to defend your family and get the heck out of there? 6) Don't go anywhere where you can't carry a firearm? 7) Never leave the house? That video is disturbing, and I cringe at the thought of finding myself in the middle of an event like that (especially with my family in tow). Interested in thoughts on response alternatives. JA |
All the "It can't happen to me" and "i've never felt a need to arm myself" folks on this forum should watch that video then watch it again and ask themselves, "what if that happened to me?"
It CAN happen to you. |
If it has this "skull crusher" whatzit, seems that "non-lethal" is perhaps not quite accurate.
Never saw the video, they killed it before I got a chance to watch, story of my life. I need to get some pepper spray, that is about the most I expect I could legally carry around here. |
You could certainly easily kill someone with a skull crusher bezel, but nowhere is it written you have to nail someone as hard as you can in the temple either. ;)
A good wallup to the mouth though, it would knock out several teeth and create a nasty series of deep gashes. I suspect that a good crack in the nose would cause immense non lethal damage as well. I've pepper sprayed a lot of people over the years, so far it's worked every time, but they say some people are immune to it. No one is immune to getting their teeth knocked out. I have a skull crusher on my AR as well. Some people get flash hiders on their home defense pistols with integrated skull crushers nowadays too. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/2f8f1fdf.jpg Again, it doesn't look like much, but the skull crusher on that is made of ordnance grade steel, it's extremely strong, and very sharp. A skull crusher on a home defense pistol or any defensive long gun is an idea with merit in my opinion. My AR in a past configuration. I guess the bayonet does make the skull crusher a bit superfluous... http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...essmuzzle2.jpg |

Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis ?
I'll take my chances that i wont run into one of the 84. Besides, not feeling pain is not the same as not suffering damage. You ever seen the movie "Kickass"? |
I don't take my chances with much, even CIPA sufferers aren't immune to concussive brain trauma.
Yeah, I'm really tired of seeing Nick Cage doing half ass movies. |
I LOVED the Hit Girl scenes.
"I solemnly swear to save myself for her!" |
There were some funny parts, I just couldn't get past the pure crap Cage passes of as acting. I wish I could just bash his face in..........say, can I borrow that flashlight??

It's not about race. It's about the homes and culture these people were raised in. Had they been raised with mum and dad who taught them right then they wouldn't do stuff like this. That also goes for the "men" who work in that McDonald's... Who didn't do anything but watch. Of course these are just general comments. There are plenty of people who have risen above their up bringing and surprised us all. |
