A desensitized youth?

willtel 04-26-2011 01:21 PM

Maybe he mistook them for snakes...

kach22i 04-26-2011 01:23 PM

I almost hit a turtle on a dirt road today, took steps to avoid him as he ducked into his shell.

Rikao4 04-26-2011 01:31 PM

he's somebody I would hurt ..
maybe after I drive that Hummer over his legs a few times..
I can tell the judge..
I'm a desensitized adult...

Who could run over a duckling(s)? Sick person.

Seahawk 04-26-2011 02:16 PM

Ok.

Cane him, make him do community service cleaning duck ponds, find a way to humiliate the little scum bag...but a felony.

No.

patssle 04-26-2011 02:26 PM

What a shocker, he drives a Hummer!

In my area (Western Washington) there was a notorious case several years back where an officer was following a woman who swerved to hit a family of 'possums. She was arrested, and eventually she successfully defended against the charges. I believe justice was served in this instance.

But then, those were 'possums. Anybody who'd deliberately hit a family of duckies should shot with a knife.

oh boy. a guy here in utah got charged for a similar crime with a similar punishment. except it was a person he killed with his car. our society has gone mental.

Our outrage is so arbitrary.

Reminds me (yet again) of a Denis Leary bit:

Denis: And what do you do?

Otter: I swim around on my back and do cute little human things with my hands.

Denis: You're free to go. And what are you?

Cow: I'm a cow.

Denis: Get in the ****ing truck, ok pal!

Cow: But I'm an animal.

Denis: You're a baseball glove! Get on that truck!

Cow: I'm an animal, I have rights!

Denis: (pointing at leather jacket) Yeah, here's yer ****ing cousin, get on the ****ing truck, pal!

child abusers often start out by abusing pets, and other animals

he will plead down to a misdemeanor -- I hope he gets the help he needs

exactly.

while i don't condone the actions of this guy, i hardly think it warrants a felony. unless he endangered a person, killed a protected animal, destroyed someone else's property, or tortured the ducklings, this is just a waste of taxpayer time and money. perhaps he does need counseling. who knows. have him do 40 hours of community service cleaning up duck ponds, as mentioned above, no criminal record and be done with it. i bet he'd never do anything like it again.

Gogar 04-26-2011 03:53 PM

So, if he picked up the ducklings and took them home and fixed them for dinner, would it be okay?

I suppose it's not duck season, though, so there might be a fine.

masraum 04-26-2011 04:38 PM

Sure, no big deal, he just ran over ducklings because he had to show the McD's employees who the big man is. It's also fine if he hangs out in your neighborhood waiting for the little girls puppy to escape so he can run it down too. Come on, it's fun.

There's a difference between killing something for food and killing it for no reason other than that you've got a little peepee.

We had some kids in our part of Phoenx who actually put bread in the road so they could run over ducks and geese. Just can't imagine what they were thinking.

Felony? Ridiculous. How about some mandatory therapy? Way more helpful to him and society in general

pavulon 04-26-2011 04:46 PM

Smear his face w/ spring duck hen phermone then tie him supine to a rock near a pile of cracked field corn by a pond. Let him go when he resembles a feather-down bismark and post his pic on Facebook.
