Anybody know what it means when a J flashes?

I just dropped off two of the old Escorts like that at Goodwill a few weeks ago. Looked up the value on-line and save the time and trouble by giving them away.

I'd be shocked if any PD in America used x band anymore - it's far too cluttered. I've never gotten a real hit on x. K band is probably 20% real, 80% door openers and other crap, but worth paying attention to (especially the hit counter - I've encountered cops in/around shopping centers with other K contacts - whether incidental or deliberate attempt to mask is unknown and doesn't really matter from an operational standpoint).

Ka is almost always real. Laser is about 50/50 cops and those stupid-ass Infiniti SUV things.

Junk contact - initially thought to be a bogey and subsequently determined to be clutter. Your hit counter should go down when it happens (either 1 to 0 or 2 to 1 or whatever).

Rick,

CHP has Laser. I got hit last July on the 118 near Rocky Peak. This is the hill between the Valley and Simi Valley.

Not fun cause traffic moves so fast through there that you can't slow fast enough.

not just a smaller company - MV is a genius

he quit or was forced out of Escort (he designed the famed detectors there) and started his own co.

I'm told he owns a Porsche 911 BTW.

I called Valentine & asked...the answer I was given: "J is for Junk"...

laser is used on fast 6 lanes around here by HP and NYC cops to get the guy doing 90 when everyone else is doing 70 in a 55 limit and there is too much traffic for radar to discriminate when needed. Late commuters, 8:30-11:00 pm, boogy in anything from expensive sedans to an old pos that should have blown up or slid off the road going faster than 60. It's best and safest to be in a herd when going over 70. Laser clocked an M. Evolution EVO doing 145 on a litely packed 6 lane a few weeks ago

i turned off x-band years ago

some of those traffic speed signs use ka

one of these days i'm gong to install the Blinder laser jammer

bought my V1 years and years ago. I was convinced to buy it by the Man himself...because HE answered the phone when I called. Gotta love a guy that answers his own phone. Have never regretted it.

I see him quite frequently. He's a PCA guy here in Cincy, shows up at most PCA events and Cars & Coffee get togethers. Great, fun guy to talk to and has some really fun toys !! He's REALLY into the technology of the automotive world ! Aviation too, talked to him a few times about that stuff...

I guess his wife has a real sense of humor too... The way he told me, she doesn't make ANY rules about WHAT he buys, but he's only allowed to own a certain number of wheels (mounted on vehicles) at any given time.... so if something catches his fancy (like his Tesla or the Carrera GT) something else has got to go...

I've got a V1 and not that I've tried anything else for some time, but I wouldn't have anything else...

I'm hundreds if not thousands of dollars thankful I bought one !
